Do you have a sweet tooth, or prefer more savoury?

I ask because although I’m very much a fan of both, I’ve just polished off some more chocolate after my dinner tonight. It’s a habit I can’t seem to break - I just have a major sweet tooth.
Are you more of a sweet or savoury type of person?
Imaginary_Finger7844@reddit
Sweet tooth when I'm sober. Otherwise savoury.
Amazing-Heron-105@reddit
Exactly the same. You also find yourself on the fizzy drinks sober?
Imaginary_Finger7844@reddit
Yep.
Gotta have that sweet dopamine.
flinstoneguy55@reddit
I literally cannot go to bed without a sweet treat after dinner lmao
OkWear6294@reddit
I used to hate sweet stuff. Once I quit drinking, I just want anything and everything sweet.
BradLB2026@reddit
I think it's a mix for me but I lean more towards savery.
steppenshewolf07@reddit
As I started to get closer to my 40s I started caring about food less and less. I don't get excited about snacks, sweets or hyper processed foods anymore.
Amazing-Heron-105@reddit
I'm off most of my food too. Can be such a pain every evening to try and think of something to eat.
riftlantern@reddit
that seems sad
Dry_Action1734@reddit
Regularly hankering for both, hence… fat.
When drinking in the winter, (weirdly) I crave ice cream. When drinking in the summer, I crave really buttery crisp sandwiches.
Love pork pie. Love cherry pie.
Amazing-Heron-105@reddit
Alcohol + Ice Cream. Potentially problematic combo. I had a few pints then a banana milkshake once and that was rotten.
Amazing-Heron-105@reddit
When I was drinking lots of alcohol never had a sweet tooth but since stopping I'm suddenly well into all sorts. Pretty keen on doughnuts atm.
jimmywhereareya@reddit
Nah. I have something sweet occasionally, but I prefer a more savory snack
ThrowRAkitty13@reddit
I always need balance, I eat something savoury then I need something sweet, then I need something savoury, then I need something sweet.
It's a vicious cycle.
paper_truck@reddit
Delicious cycle, more like
MixAway@reddit (OP)
Haha yes agreed. I love crisps and the savoury stuff too. I can take both!!
Glass_Advantage_1370@reddit
Savoury. I only really love sweets or junk food with harsh or intense flavors. Salt licorice is my daemon.
Aael_111@reddit
I can enjoy sweet stuff, but I almost never crave it like I do savoury things.
Like I'm never fussed for ordering a dessert in a restaurant, but if it comes as part of a 3 course deal or whatever I'll still eat it.
If I was hungry I would never go for something sweet to satisfy me, would have to be savoury.
waxfutures@reddit
Still both, but a lot more savoury than sweet these days. I'll demolish a multipack of crisps in no time but a big chocolate bar will last me a week.
08ovi@reddit
Both and im a right fat bastard because of it.
gemmajenkins2890@reddit
Definitely savoury.
I have - or used to have - enough sugar in my multiple hot drinks each day that I don’t need a lot of sweet food.
G_UK@reddit
Sweet. It’s a habit I can’t kick.
AndrewHinds67@reddit
Very sweet!
1whoisconcerned@reddit
Usually savoury but I do like fizzy strawberry laces or wine gums with cheese and onion crisps.
PKblaze@reddit
Prefer savoury overall. I would rather get a starter before a main than a dessert after for example
dwair@reddit
I love a bit of sweet stuff now and again but I'm more into my fatty, savoury treats. Cheese. I fucking love cheese.
Ahleanna-D@reddit
Savoury all the way.
When I have sweet, it can’t be TOO heavy or sweet. Would much rather have trifle (or a quite spongey sticky toffee) pudding than a chocolate bombe. I quite like some of the cream cakes from Polish shops, especially the fruity ones.
MixAway@reddit (OP)
I love a jam roly poly 😂
BritishBackBacon@reddit
Both. 🐖.
MixAway@reddit (OP)
Same really 😂
LoudCar7846@reddit
As l have got older, I prefer savoury over sweet: crisps and other savoury snacks, cheese, nuts.
MixAway@reddit (OP)
Crisps and nuts are irresistible to me.
JBB2002902@reddit
Used to be sweet until I had my kids, now I’d take salty crisps over chocolate any day!
MixAway@reddit (OP)
I love just salted crisps. Plain and crunchy. Yum!
VolcanicBear@reddit
Savoury. Unless stoned, then everything.
Dry_Extension_9850@reddit
I do like chocolate but would much prefer to have a massive bag of crisps with dip or a cheese board.
BeanOnAJourney@reddit
Savoury. I like some sweet things but I could only have one or the other, it would definitely be savoury.
InkedDoll1@reddit
Sweet all the way. I like crisps but I'd sacrifice them in an instant if I could eat cakes and chocolate all day and not gain weight.
Hot-Satisfaction19@reddit
saw a royal institute lecture on why having a 'dessert stomach' is an evolutionary survival mechanism. that's my excuse anyway 😉
Used-Flamingo-4320@reddit
Savoury
matepatepa@reddit
Savoury for me, especially if a lot of chillies are involved!!
Uk-Reporter@reddit
Sadly, both.
Euphoric_Rough_5245@reddit
Savoury every time. I’d rather have a cheese sammich or sausage roll than chocolate. It takes me 6 months to eat a small box of chocolate.
Dodgely@reddit
Savoury. I can scoff a whole Easter egg as well as the next guy, but put a pork pie in front of me and I'll be begging you for more.
Constant_Chip_5761@reddit
This but mini scotch eggs. Its a problem
surfermark99@reddit
Pork pie is uniquely delicious.
nomotivationgf@reddit
Sweet but sour is my weakness. I'm having some really tart stewed rhubarb with porridge for dinner tonight.
Technical-Mention510@reddit
Savoury for me i love crisps and salted popcorn.
Bonsuella_Banana@reddit
Sweet always. Chocolate especially. I can just binge and binge, Galaxy Counters are the choc obsession again right now
snakeoildriller@reddit
Same as you.. not sure if it's a problem or not: I suspect it could be.
YeahIKnow_IMadeItUp@reddit
who the fuck cares. why do you care about this? get a life chubby.
shallowAlan@reddit
Cheese is my vice. Any kind
diminutive-valkyrie@reddit
Both tbh but I find a little bit of the Lindt with sea salt bar scratches both itches
naegoodinthedark@reddit
Crisps all day for me. Can't have multiple bags in the house or I'll just tan the lot
strawberryblondey@reddit
Sweet tooth. Always have to have a pudding after my tea, feels weird not too. Been told thats not normal!
BG3restart@reddit
I don't eat many sweets or chocolate, but I can easily polish off a pack of cheese twists or any kind of cheese biscuits.
franki-pinks@reddit
Used to be savoury but since I turned 40 I can’t stop eating chocolate and biscuits and cakes.
hide_in_plain_sight_@reddit
100% sweet tooth. Had to make a deliberate effort to cut them out. I’m talking sour stuff. Haribo Tangfastics, Moam Strips etc. Could see off whole packs with ease and was getting savage sugar crashes.
My only sweet treat now is 85% dark chocolate.
_helloalien@reddit
Salty unless I have a bag of sour patch kids, then it’s sweet all day
NoNameNoNumba@reddit
Crisps and biscuits are my go to munch but if I could only choose one it would be biscuits.
