Wow. Building 1, Plane 0.
Trallalerotralalala@reddit
Generally buildings don’t burst in flames/ explode and collapse when a plane hits
Highlightthot1001@reddit
When the plane is small, yes
Passenger airliner? Typically no.
Delta 587 took out several houses when it crashed and exploded
TigerIll6480@reddit
Passenger airliners that were specifically chosen because they were trans-continental flights that would be full of fuel, and were intentionally hijacked early in the flights? Very different story. Al Qaeda paid attention to the testimony about why the WTC bombing failed a decade earlier, and tailored the attack to inflict maximum damage on those buildings at their weakest points. The collision points were chosen to be, as much as they could, at or above the point that the asbestos coatings had no longer been installed on the structural beams due to construction worker health concerns.

NewUser769283@reddit
Are you certain they literally planned on the buildings to collapse?
I mean, going directly after a certain level?
It seems more likely they got lucky.... hitting them wasn't the problem..... collapsing them by choosing a certain point ... not so much.
TigerIll6480@reddit
They did their homework. They’d tried to bring the towers down with bombs in the basement parking garages in the early 90s, but it wasn’t effective. They were aiming for maximum damage with the second attempt.

Thanks. Corrected
rocket_randall@reddit
Some of the new build homes in Arizona will do that on their own, no aircraft needed!

The F1 Hotel of the Concorde crash tends to disagree
SkyHighExpress@reddit
Showing your age there… I completely forgot about the hotel that it hit
WelpImTrapped@reddit
I wasn't even born yet 😅
But yeah I am French, so I guess I have been exposed to more pictures of it

this is just a lil propeller plane
b33fstu@reddit
I’m curious why the fuselage split in those even segments. I don’t think it’s related, just wondering if it’s the panel seams or an engine detached post crash and sliced it.

I read yesterday there were 2 survivors..... how the fuck???
fullsets_@reddit
A media outlet posted a video on twitter showing one of the passengers, he was INSIDE the building, on the other side of that hole, with very severe injuries.

Huge plane fills up barely legal building.
classyhornythrowaway@reddit
why is everyone piling on the news site in the comments? it's a serious accident, there's a video, what did they expect when they clicked on it?
fullsets_@reddit
Not on the news site. On the woman who's recording because she was very out of touch saying things like "be glad you're alive because that other guy is dead"
mr_sugarwolf@reddit
Some people fail to think about what they are going to before speaking. No thought of the person(s) involved/affected or their family.
classyhornythrowaway@reddit
oh shit I watched with the sound off and I don't know Portuguese anyway. makes sense now (but also some people become very matter of fact in face of shock)
Ataneruo@reddit
Damn, he has a complete closed fracture of his lower leg, you can see it bending with the slightest pressure
Fixinbones27@reddit
Yeah. Tibia/fibula fx. Easy to fix
PoppedCork@reddit
Im not the better for that when I saw his foot/leg
SudoApt-getrekt@reddit
It looks like there was no post-crash fire, so that plus low speed and luck I guess.
Inner-Thought9665@reddit
Black box recovered?
Trallalerotralalala@reddit
Small General Aviation planes like these are not required to have a black box.
fireandlifeincarnate@reddit
why is this being downvoted
danit0ba94@reddit
No idea. It's not a bad question. A harmless mistake at worst.
Trallalerotralalala@reddit
The thing is this subReddit is for everyone and most aren’t technically aware of the in and outs of all things related to aviation and have the right to ask their doubts and clarify. I don’t know why this subReddit has gotten so toxic lately that they start downvoting questions no matter how simple they are. We are in this subReddit because we LOVE aviation and want understand and explore more of it. But unfortunately at times the people I’m this subReddit disappoint me with such behaviour. But in this post I’m truly happy and a tear of joy rolled down my cheek seeing such supportive behaviour from everyone. I hope all interactions in this subReddit are henceforth well intentioned and not toxic. Thank you everyone

No one knows but it's provocative.
GitEmSteveDave@reddit
Reddit fudges displayed votes in an effort to combat bots. So just because you see something initially downvoted doesn't mean it actually is.
fireandlifeincarnate@reddit
It was at -2; I'm aware there's some variance but I've never seen that much of a negative fudge before
KingOfFools1984@reddit
Added my upvote. We should all be more friendly and love each other.

Too many haters in this subReddit
GreatScottGatsby@reddit
That is the ssummary of my entire career in aviation
KaseyLueWho@reddit
The fact that someone survived….
_x_oOo_x_@reddit
It was flying at a low speed (couldn't maintain altitude)
KaseyLueWho@reddit
I mean it still hit a building, low speed flight is still pretty fast to go from that to zero
Front-Cabinet5521@reddit
Imagine coming home from work and seeing a huge hole in your wall.
Ok-One5218@reddit
Is this going to require a sudden stoppage inspection
NewUser769283@reddit
Poor guy.
