Dentist (Deep clean) options or ides

I recently found out I have about 10 cavities and quite a bit of buildup from the past few years. I went to a clinic in Oak Cliff for a second opinion, and they recommended two deep cleanings (one for each side) plus fillings for all the cavities.
After insurance, the total came out to around $1,800–$1,900 ($600 per deep cleaning and about $640 for the fillings). The first place I visited quoted me closer to $2,500, so this was already lower but still a significant cost.
I wanted to ask if anyone has recommendations for a dentist in the Oak Cliff, Dallas even Arlington area that offers more affordable pricing or good payment options. I’m open to different clinics, including dental schools or lower cost providers, as long as they’re reliable.
Any suggestions or experiences would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance!

If they diagnosed you with scaling and root planing (deep cleaning), definitely don't ignore it-that's how you avoid bone loss later. I know you asked about DFW, but if you ever make it down closer to the Houston/Katy area for work or family, is nice option to add to list for periodontal therapy. They use a lot of modern tech so the deep clean doesn't feel like they're scraping your soul out, plus they're great with PPO insurance mapping. If you stay in DFW, just make sure to look for a place that offers localized numbing gel rather than just going raw.

For the deep cleaning, you can go to Concorde Career College and let a student hygienist do it for you for like $20. The only catch is that it’s a student practicing so it takes longer. But they are overseen by licensed hygienists and dentists so it’s totally legit! They have two locations - one in Dallas and one in Grand Prairie. They can’t do the cavities there, but at least you could get the cleanings done.

Reach out to Solid Smiles on the edge of Coppell- a little bit of drive but they are super honest and do fantastic work. They could probably go over pricing with you over the phone too.

i called! they were so nice over the phone, she said she will get back to me, she still had to get some info from my insurance like the percentage or cover so she can give me an more accurate price lets see if she does call.

Also, do you have dental insurance? It sounds like the first office was not in network with your insurance and the second one was. Make sure if you have insurance that the office is an in network contracted provider; some will say they “accept your insurance” which may just mean they will file it but are out of network.

thanks!

that price honestly sounds about right for that amount of work, dental stuff adds up fast… but yeah definitely worth checking a dental school, they’re way cheaper and still supervised
