No it’s a good gun too it’s just dated. Needs upgrades too… unfortunately it was a gun that needed a titanium firing pin upgrade and a take down pin upgrade as well. Other than that it was good to go. Only after 3-400 rounds of training ammo would you need to start inspecting the firing pin in the early models. It was fragile and dry fire made it worse
Ive owned both. Sold my LCP Max for the BG2. The BG fit and finish, ergos, texture, trigger and even size is all better. Its worth the price difference every time. The LCP Max is fine, the BG on the otherhand ergonomically fits my hand like a glove.
Any noticeable difference in reliability? I’m a M&P fanboy and loved the way the BG2.0 felt when shooting it at my LGS but I got maybe 3 stovepipes and 4 failure to feed. I’m assuming the gun was in shit condition as a rental but have been looking for someone who’s owned both the LCP and BG2.0
I'm the person that posted my experience with BG2 critical (and dangerous) failures that eventually led to SW buying my second BG back from me (after the first made four trips in for warranty, and they replaced it, only to have that fail).
When it worked, I absolutely loved it. Great design, doesn't shoot like a pocket gun. I don't know how they shrank the M&P down and made it useable. But SW QC problems are now everywhere. I bought a MAX as a replacement.
So I've owned both. I much preferred the BG to shoot, but I need carry guns to be 1,000% reliable, which the BG was not. I would say it was the best pocket gun I've ever owned, when it worked.
As I said before, other people are going to chime in and talk about how great the BG is, and they are right. And I have no doubt that their guns have been flawless. But me getting two lemons in a row soured me on the BG.
It was like a Land Rover for me. When it worked, it was amazing. But it didn't work.
I just bought the BG2.0 with the comp and I haven't got to shoot it yet, but feels so good in the hand. Most reviewers say the comp is does make a difference and I do like the glowy front sight thing.

Am I the only one who thinks the LCP 1 reigns supreme?

Go to your LGS and see which you like better in the hand. It is likely to be the BG 2.0.

Have done this like them both looking for user experience

LCP max is half the price and a hair smaller (good for shallow pockets) but the BodyGuard 2.0 is the better overall gun IMO.
PickleNutella@reddit
The correct answer is the Bodyguard 2emu.0
Ruger® LCP® MAX Centerfire Pistol Model 23702
