Mark Alaimo played Gul Macet among other characters in the The Star Trek Universe.

Also, OP, I don't mean to be rude, but you've misspelled his name. Marc is correct. Mark ... is not.
marsnoir@reddit
One is his name… the other is not
Lubberworts@reddit (OP)
Dammit. That's what happens when you are in a hurry. Thank you.
Aezetyr@reddit
Don't forget his most memorable performance, as one of the dog aliens in the early TNG episode Lonely Among Us.

Dafuq you talking about? His biggest role was obviously as one of the first Romulans the Federation has seen in decades.
Med_irsa_655@reddit
Wasn’t he a some no-make up-newspaper man in a ds9 ep?
Malnurtured_Snay@reddit
I think you're thinking of Dick Miller.
Med_irsa_655@reddit
My bad. Looks like they were sci-fi writers. DS9 isn’t really my trek 😂
Malnurtured_Snay@reddit
DS9's not for everybody, but if you've never binged it, you should!
sitcom-podcaster@reddit
He’s a cop in that episode.
Champ_5@reddit
I'll not stand for this card-playing Frenchman erasure
xwolf360@reddit
No way that was him 😲😲😲😲

Attention Bajoran workers: free cake in Quark’s 😂
Curious_Orange8592@reddit
Ah yes, I remember the card shark from Time's Arrow that Data took for everything he had
Seeker80@reddit
I bet there's a statue of Gul Macet...
Oruma_Yar@reddit
In the DS9 novels, he joined Damar's rebellion, survived the Dominion War, >!survived an attempt on his body by the TNG parasite creature and helped defeat their assault on the Federation!< - he really deserved a statue.
Oruma_Yar@reddit
Gul Macet was pretty cool, sporting that badass mustache. And that helmet! I am sure both will be important parts of the Cardassian design for years.
MindlessNectarine374@reddit
And how he recognized the need for peace with the federation.
Mid-Delsmoker@reddit
One of the best characters the whole of Star Trek!
Menzicosce@reddit
Can we make a statue for Mark when he turns 85
Malnurtured_Snay@reddit
Ahh, Gul Macet, yes: the role we all associate him with.
lhingel@reddit
Shit, that was not Dukat!
Bushid0C0wb0y81@reddit
In a series full of absolutely amazing portrayals, character arcs, and actors he really stands out. The older I get the more I appreciate the nuance he brought to the role.
matt95110@reddit
He was an absolutely amazing villain. Him and Andrew Robinson looked like they were having a blast playing those characters.
sir_jamez@reddit
Garak is one of the greatest characters in TV history, portrayed with absolute perfection by Robinson
BeardyGeoffles@reddit
You do realise it was Gul Madred (David Warner) who was in that episode?
Also Four Candles.
