First time building a gaming PC (~1500€) – is it even a good idea?

Hey,
I’m planning to build my first gaming PC with a budget of around 1500€, but I’m honestly a complete beginner when it comes to PC hardware.
So first question:
Do you think it’s even a good idea for a total noob like me to build a PC myself, or should I just buy a prebuilt?
If I do build one, I’d mainly use it for:
- CS2 / Valorant (I have a 180Hz monitor)
- some AAA games (1440p, maybe a bit 4K)
I don’t need anything crazy overkill, just good performance for the money.
If spending a bit more actually makes a noticeable difference, I’d consider it.
I don’t have any fixed parts yet, so I’d really appreciate recommendations for:
- CPU
- GPU
- RAM
- storage
- anything else I should look out for
Basically: what would you build right now for \~1500€ in Germany, and would you even recommend that I try building it myself?
Thanks!

every one that build a PC was a complete noob, dont worried...
yes, building you own is a lot cheaper and usually pre builds have some dogshit parts usually mobo and PSU that you better avoid...
if you can go over budget do this:
https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/TmtQDw
-i picked you almost the best CPU for gaming.
-the cheapest good dual tower cooler. (you dont need something better, only if you really care about aesthetics...)
-good mid range mobo, you can get something like 10-20 euro less but it will be b650 and you will have to flash bios and it a bit stressful to "total noob" :D (you dont really need something better wont give you any performance boost)
-cheapest ram with the right speed and EXPO. (you dont really need something better, performance boost is really minimal for something better in some case it not even exist..)
-i picked you 2tb drive, you can get 1tb to save some money. (its a mid range drive due to lack of dram...)
-pick any case that you like, i just picked something that imo look good, some cases have shit fans so you just get a fan pack for like 5fans for 20euro... (this case have good fans)
-for psu the meta this days is to just get 850w gold tier because they have the best price and allow you to upgrade to almost anything in the future.
-the GPU that i picked is considered the best price to performance for 1440p gaming

Hey, thanks a lot for the detailed list and the explanations – that really helps
I’ll definitely take another closer look and compare the parts properly.
One more question though:
How long would you say a build like this with a 7800X3D + RX 9070 XT stays “market-relevant,” meaning without needing any major upgrades? Do you think it’s more like solid for 3–4 years of gaming, or would it actually hold up well for longer?
Thanks again!

we cannot really know what the future will demand...
but my gamble is that the CPU will be relevant for more than 4+ years easily.
for GPU thats depends on your graphic demands, personally i dont like/care for ray tracing so to me it will hold also easily for 4+ years.
also usually i play competitive games and im a 'try hard' :S
so low settings is usually what i do for better clarity and high fps advantage.
also "Moore's Law" is not completely dead but we practically seems like we are there.
AI is booming with huge demand so most of the effort of developing is going there currently and the prices are really high which will cause this build to be relevant for longer imo
ofc take everything that i said with salt, this is just speculation.

There are a plenty of tutorials on how to build a pc. Even in German.
Everyone has started somewhere.
It's easier than you might think.
The power supply is A tier which means it's a quality unit.
This will give you plenty of performance.

Hey, thanks a lot for your help and the encouragement. I really appreciate it.
I think I’m going to go a bit higher with the budget and invest the extra money into a slightly stronger build in the end.
But still, thanks again for taking the time to put this together for me — it really helped a lot
