Help! Which one to choose.

I am trying to upgrade my aging AM4 build to Am5 , currentl running Ryzen 7 3700x , paired it with an Rtx 5080. And I stumbled upon a bundle savings from Microcenter near me. I need help. My own research tells me to buy the 9800x3d for lower power draw and temps but the price difference of 9850x3d is much cheaper. Is it that bad that I should go for the 9800x3d instead even though the 9850x3d is much cheaper?
Option 1- 699$
AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D
ASUS B850-E TUF Gaming WiFi AM5,
G.Skill Flare X5 Series 32GB DDR5-6000 Kit
Option 2 - 729$
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D,
MSI X870E-P Pro WiFi,
G.Skill Flare X5 Series 32GB DDR5 6000 Kit.

Would love to recommend the 9850x3d build but I do not trust Asus or ASRock with X3D cpus currently. They've been randomly dying for no reason and they have not come out with a statement on it yet. Safer Option is the second one

What do you mean dying? Like burned out?

Yep. They just randomly stop working when it comes to Asus and ASRock motherboards you can search it up been a problem for a few months now.

I see. I might just go foe option 2 then

If you're worried, I'd rather have an Asus board and an added Microcenter warranty than an MSI board and no warranty. There's no actual statistical evidence that Asus or even ASRock has a higher failure rate than any other manufacturer, and the issue might be with microcode, user error, or just anecdotal randomness rather than any problem with specific MBDs.
But that's just me personally, and contrary to what the above poster said, Asus did officially state they were looking into it, and pushed a BIOS update in the meantime, so they're at least taking it seriously. (I believe ASRock also made a statement, but their situation is much murkier, because they've had a bad reputation with 9800X3Ds for longer.)

If you're concerned about power draw and temps, get the 7800X3D.
But I'd definitely get the 9850X3D when it's literally cheaper, that's a no-brainer unless I literally require 870 chipset features. Even then, I'd probably get the 9850X3D for $750: if we're splurging on a CPU that won't make much difference at 1440p/4K, let's actually get the best.
