“Very low final”…
Looks pretty normal. Turns out you have to get low to the ground to land.
entropy13@reddit
I think it's just a bit odd to fly a C-17 straight into Beijing rather than a C-40 or other converted airliner to shuttle diplomats. I'm sure it happens from time to time but not super common.
cowtao@reddit
isn't this for his motorcade? he flies his armored limo around wherever he goes
entropy13@reddit
It is, presidential visits (for good or ill) aren't a daily occurrence.
Dragon6172@reddit
Motorcade and Marine One helicopters are flown in via C-17 or C-5
MoarCowb3ll@reddit
Isnt that standard for all presidents?
TryOurMozzSticks@reddit
Yes.
PIE-314@reddit
One passed over my house not long ago at 200 to no more than 300 feet. I could smell the exhaust from my front door.
gamehenge_survivor@reddit
I was thinking “aren’t all finals low?”.
Blue_Etalon@reddit
Holy crap, my wife just told me a family member flew his C17 into China today? I wonder if that’s him?
Wooden-Cartoonist762@reddit
the 'you dont see every day' part is the fact that it is a US military plane landing in CHINA
frankhoneybunny@reddit
the Chinese are gonna rip that thing apart
Cruel2BEkind12@reddit
They already have, look up the xi'an Y-20.
starkruzr@reddit
why are you under the impression that a C-17 is some kind of superplane, lmao
_Stainless_Rat@reddit
Crazy how with every landing you get dangerously close to the ground.
definitelyainoreally@reddit
I wonder... do the C-17s support metric altitude? I suppose they should... but there is the possibility they might not
9G_Turn@reddit
Any bakery trucks nearby?
hchn27@reddit
This looks like a normal landing ??? At least it didn’t hit a bread truck …
McCheesing@reddit
They come out of NOWHERE, I tell ya

Im just impressed with all the blue sky I've seen in these China posts lately. They are killing it with cleaning their air.
Current-Being-8238@reddit
China shouldn’t get as much shit as they do from the west, considering they make most of the shit we use… but at the same time they are obviously the largest polluter and much of that air ends up on the US west coast.
starkruzr@reddit
I just don't understand why people seem to think the music is ever, ever, EVER a good idea
ckanderson@reddit
We are victims of the algorithm
Messyfingers@reddit
I had a good idea during COVID. Make a really shitty version of funky town where I just used the sound of the engines as the instruments so that people could simultaneously complain about the shitty music but not be able to complain about not hearing the plane itself. What ultimately stopped me from doing it was the realization that there was already enough evil in the world.
separation_of_powers@reddit
Are we sure this isn't just Taiwan?
Im_Balto@reddit
There is a US head of state visit to China coming up. Transporting vehicles and whatnot
Herewego1105@reddit
Got to pick up weapons from China to deliver to Iran to keep the war going.
VMICoastie@reddit
Can we stop with the stupid music already. Nobody wants that.
Grouchy_Bread4748@reddit
Always trashy music
Piggybumm@reddit
Would’ve liked the original sound.
CT-1065@reddit
I browse muted for that reason

The Chinese people are incredibly knowledgeable about aviation. It’s one thing that struck me the most when in the region, kids growing up have a favorite fighter jet and know quite a lot about what makes each unique.
Tommy84@reddit
If you think this is a very low final, I have a video from Newark to show you.
Inner-Thought9665@reddit
They used a different metric system by the way
