Hot sleepers: is bedjet worth the hype?

I already have a tower fan on me, bamboo sheets and thin comforter on me. I’m fine when the weather is mild/cold but now that it’s getting consistently warmer, I’m waking up multiple times throughout the night from being hot. And with energy prices though the roof, we can’t keep turning the a/c down. So I saw bedjet is running a Mother’s Day sale. Anyone have one? Love it or hate it?

Why use even a thin comforter in the heat, just use the sheet or nothing at all.
winterneuro@reddit
I like the feel of something on me like a sheet or a blanket and have trouble sleeping without.
Kristin2349@reddit
Same here, I absolutely need a comforter for some reason. A big fluffy one. The bedjet is definitely worth it.

My partner says she's in perimenopause and she's hot one second, cold the next, then hot hot hot.
She says it's the best gift she's ever gotten. We started off with the phone app for a year then got the remote.
Don't forget to clean the filters!
CurlyCupcake1231@reddit (OP)
Do you have to use their cloud sheet with it?
Impressive-Health670@reddit
How often do you need to clean them / how long does it take?
DiamondHandsDarrell@reddit
The machine tells you, but once a month is good. It's just a little foam filter you take out, shake and you're done.
I have a vacuum I use to clean it and the unit.
Impressive-Health670@reddit
Good to know thank you, like your partner I’m starting to deal with rapid temp changes and was googling these the other night.
DiamondHandsDarrell@reddit
I was skeptical at first, but after a lot of research, I got it as a christmas gift. It's been great, we use it every night lol
Impressive-Health670@reddit
How quickly do you notice the change in temp when you adjust it?
DiamondHandsDarrell@reddit
Almost immediately.
The dry option is the best one here in so cal. But you will dial it in for temp and blower speed.
secretsandshake@reddit
Absolutely. I was just telling someone last night that I don’t know how I slept before my bedjet.
Prize_Asparagus_4324@reddit
Heck yes! I’ve had it for about a year and I have no regrets. I am able to keep cool at night during the summer. I sleep hot so I’ve never had to use the heat function.
rogun64@reddit
If there's a lot of humidity where you live, a dehumidifier can cool the air by removing moisture. I have a small one in my bedroom and I love it.
Educational_Land7852@reddit
This is a great idea! Never occurred to me. Thank you!!
wasnapping@reddit
YES. For hot nights, sure, but I especially love turning it on for chilly nights!
yurthideaway@reddit
I use Anni Star, which is a water circulating pad underneath. I love it. It keeps the bed underneath me from getting hot.
jaxjags2100@reddit
I prefer my Chilipad
Frozen_Dawg@reddit
I have had an eight sleep pod for 5 years and love it! It will fit over your mattress and You can adjust it to whatever temperature you want to sleep in. You can set different temperatures throughout the night to help maintain your comfort and sleep!
calypsobloom@reddit
We started with a Bedjet and moved to an Eight Sleep Pod about that same time, and it is the secret to our marriage 😁. We were both hot sleepers then, and now my husband has prostate cancer and is currently taking ADT treatment, which makes us both menopausal women with the night sweats 🤣
DrWife76@reddit
Yes!! It’s one of the best purchases we’ve made. Worth every penny.
justalittlesunbeam@reddit
Yes! So much so that when telling friends about it I sound like a salesman. I should get commission.

My wife is in perimenopause and she was after one of those contraptions that holds your covers up, making sort of a tent. They cost the earth, and while she was choosing a brand online I saw in a charity shop a tray for eating dinner in bed (a normal tray with adjustable height legs) that looked functionally like what she was after. It was a fiver, so I bought it, she set it up, and she's loved it ever since.
Freechickk@reddit
Yes. Just yes
5isfab@reddit
I love my bedjet! I will always own one. It does make travel harder because we don’t sleep as well without it.
No-Assistance476@reddit
I bought this from Amazon. Same thing but no remote. MORFY Portable Blanket Warmer,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DMF1LYK1?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
purplishfluffyclouds@reddit
That literally does the opposite from what a bed jet does.
ProfDoomDoom@reddit
It does next to nothing when you’re hot but it’s brilliant for night sweats and lovely when you’re cold.
Mamagogo3@reddit
I second this.
mamaberry15@reddit
It's amazing. I got mine right around Christmas, and now it's hard to sleep anywhere but my own bed. Like, I legit consider bringing it on vacation with me.
On top of limiting how often I wake up sweating in the middle of the night, last week I learned that it's also great when you're sick to help skip the cycling between being too hot and freezing.
It's pricey, but has been worth every penny for me.
sits_with_cats@reddit
A gel pillow made all the difference for me. Keeps your head cool. One leg outside the covers also works to regulate temp.
reb6@reddit
I’ve owned one for about 3-4 years now and it’s great. In the winter when my toes are like ice cubes they warm up quickly and I love I can create a schedule so it can kick on at 3am when my night sweats show up and cool me off.
Plus, their customer service and warranty is great. I’m o my third unit after the heating sensor failed and they’ve always replaced it under warranty.
IndyColtsFan2020@reddit
I’ve owned BedJet for several years and it is a game changer. I am definitely a hot sleeper and our master bedroom is hot during the summer - it’s on the second floor and the air pressure from the central air isn’t great. It definitely helps me sleep.
Keep in mind that the BedJet is not an active AC - it’s not going to blow cold air on you. But the fact that it is circulating air directly on your body in what is effectively a closed bubble (your covers) does keep you much cooler. There are times in the middle of summer where I’ve even had to turn it off due to being too cold.
My wife used to make fun of me but I upgraded from a BedJet 2 to a BedJet 3 and she took my v2 and probably runs it even more than I run mine. If you’re in a northern climate, they’re great in the winter too.
fosterhamster@reddit
I have perfectly snug and yes, it is well worth the hype. If it broke tomorrow I’d immediately replace it. I don’t have that kind of disposable income - it’s THAT important to my sleep!!!
jenorama_CA@reddit
I got a Chilipad from Sleep.me. It’s a mattress pad with a dock that uses water to heat or cool to a specific temperature. It’s amazing.
GBeastETH@reddit
I just bought one off Facebook marketplace—check there for good pricing.
kyriann@reddit
Yes!! We've had ours for about six years. It's game changing!
And as someone else said, keep the filters clean. Especially if you have cats. Also, if you have cats, they will fight you for the warm spot by the jet! 🤣
Johnny_2Times@reddit
I've never heard of this BedJet so Googled and wow, very interesting! Could've used this 15 yrs ago for sure. Now we just have two entire king beds side by side so we can sleep comfortably. I still control the thermostat (ofc) which stays no warmer than 70° year round but he's got plenty of heavy King comforters to keep him snug and I'm over here on my King bed with Jersey Cotton sheets and no blankets at all to keep me cool. Wish I knew about BedJet years ago. 🤷🏻♀️
nee2652@reddit
My husband and I bought bedjets 10 years ago. We’ve replaced them once and we love them! Helps save on cooling costs in the summer and allows us to sleep in the same bed at different temps. Highly recommend!
IRadiateYou1999@reddit
I told my other half that it was excessive and unnecessary. Now I hate having to sleep without it. It’s especially helpful for night sweats. 10/10 would recommend.
HolodeckMoriarty@reddit
I use linen sheets. Bamboo didn't breathe very well. Linen is like using nothing at all.
mkstot@reddit
Our Sam’s Club had cooling blankets in stock and cooling comforters. My wife loves hers.
