A pimped out Geo Metro. This thing had hydraulics. He was bouncing at the lights.

Is this guy okay?
polishprince76@reddit (OP)
You can't see it, but the car was lifted and tilting to the right. Dude was bouncing all over!
_K10_@reddit
I can't be the only one seeing this
Weird-one0926@reddit
Tracker, not a metro
perldawg@reddit
could’a even been a Suzuki Samurai!
enwongeegeefor@reddit
It think those had a 1.3L turbo engine in them...I was looking at the turbo on one to frankenstein onto an Aspire engine....
mini4x@reddit
They didn't.
enwongeegeefor@reddit
Weird cause the one I was looking at cannibalizing didn't look like it had engine management shit in it...no AFR computer hook ups or anythihng, it looked like it was stock, especially with all the wear on it. Suppose all that shit was pulled out when it was junked....which probably means that turbo woulda been a bad idea. This was also like 20+ years ago and my memory kinda shit.
mini4x@reddit
The samurai had a Kei version with a 660cc 3 cyl with a Turbo.
enwongeegeefor@reddit
I was pretty sure it was the 1.3 but I coulda been wrong.
Ah ok, looks like that one was only in japan, and this was a LHD vehicle I was looking at so it wasn't that. THAT would have been an amazing find though.
mini4x@reddit
Samurai was a totally different vehicle, the Tracker was the same as the Suzuki Sidekick or Vitara.
rubbaduky@reddit
Wasn’t the Chevy version also called a tracker?
mini4x@reddit
After the Geo brand was, retired yes, was also sold in Canada, as an Asuna, or GM. And in other markets as Holden, Mazda, Maruti, and several others, but they were all Suzukis.
bubbleddusty@reddit
I genuinely love badge engineering so much
There’s something just fun to me about it
enwongeegeefor@reddit
Ain't it? I went from 1st Gen SHOs to 2nd Gen DSMs because I loved the american/japanese collaborations.
mini4x@reddit
Same. One of my favorites is the Honda Crossroad.

Asuna Sunrunner
mini4x@reddit
Alongside the Asuna GT, an Isuzu impulse, Aka Geo Storm, the Asuna SE, a Daewoo / Pontiac LeMans, and the ever popular Asuna Sunfire, which was a Suzuki Swift. GM was going hard on the captive imports. These all has a Geo Variant except the LeMans which was sold as a Pontiac in the US.
burner94_@reddit
And the lemans itself started life as an Opel!
mini4x@reddit
Daewoo.
burner94_@reddit
The Opel Kadett E is the original design, the Daewoo was already a rebadge.
Trainzguy2472@reddit
What's the difference? The Samurai and Sidekick both look the same.
dirty_hooker@reddit
Samurai is smaller, more boxy, lower waistline, and has a solid axle up front.
perldawg@reddit
oh shit, you’re right, it’s a Sidekick!
mini4x@reddit
Correct, it's not even a Tracker, it's legit a Sidekick. Very subtle differences, but there's one easy tell.

forzaguy125@reddit
Nah samurais dont have those boxy fenders, its more slab sided
landonburner@reddit
Back in 89, when I was in high school, the Sidekick and the Samurai were some of the most popular cars. It might just be nostalgia but if in saw one in good condition for a good price I might just park one in my backyard as a weekend vehicle. The Samarai was less capable off road but I love that removable hard top.
mini4x@reddit
The Samurai was far more capable off road. The Sidekick had IFS, and a three link in the rear.
Source, had several of both.
tomsloat@reddit
Was the other way round, the samurai was the capable off roader.
Atholthedestroyer@reddit
Dunno, my uncle's always seemed pretty capable. Went down more than a few sketchy quad/dirt bike trails with him as a kid. I'd love to have one too, but last 'good' one I saw the seller wanted $14k CDN, and any within my price range are bagged and I'm not much of a mechanic.
Captinprice8585@reddit
Hell yeah brother
EliRocks@reddit
Anyone else notice an increase in posts that have the wrong name of the object/creature in the title?
Seen a few this past week, as opposed to like one or two a month. Might just be that I'm noticing them more.

That's a Suzuki Jimny?
Graverobber13@reddit
Amazing.
Jackielegs43@reddit
That’s a Vitara, mate!
Br0boc0p@reddit
Where's the Metro? You accidentally uploaded pictures of a Tracker.
Nozzoe@reddit
This here's a modified geo metro (tracker). It's got three speeds, here there and gone
Notchersfireroad@reddit
Tracker and Sammis make great hydro platforms. Super popular in the late 80's/early 90's. I think they like the both solid axles.
mini4x@reddit
Tracker was ifs and three link in the rear.
artificerone@reddit
Michigan city, IN. I've spotted this in the wild as well.
GonzoTheGreat22@reddit
So #1 that’s a Tracker and #2 welcome to pretty much all of the 90s.
DoctorMario1000@reddit
These hilarious things where everywhere when I was a kid in the early 90s 😂 still so funny to me
