“MCL-HY” sounds more like the Wi Fi password at a dentist’s office.

V6? Even if you win, nobody cares.
Now Aston competing with the V12, that is a show.
McLaren should have used the V10, here, and on the W1.

almost every le mans winner is the current era both LMH and GT3 used a turbo 6 or a V8

How many times has Porsche won Le Mans, and how many of those were with more than 6 cylinders?
Or alternatively:
Le Mans winners with a Flat/V6 (or less) in the last 30 years: 18
Le Mans winners with a V8/V10/V12 in the last 30 years: 12

V6s are what win in endurance racing. V12s are a nice novelty but not really a competitive one. Mclaren does not make a V10 (the weird Solus that does have a V10 uses a Judd GV5) and making a new one would make zero sense

Yet Audi and Peugeot won many Le Mans with V10s and V12s

Apologies, I will rephrase. In modern endurance racing, especially in the top class, V10s and V12s are something of a novelty. I should also note those cars were diesels and didn't really sound like what a lot of people think V10s and 12s sound like.

Lmao the most uninspired name McLaren can possibly give it. Honestly sometimes I kinda wish they stuck with their MP4 naming scheme; ties their cars really well with their racing heritage.

At least this is a race car
Using the name MP4-12C on a road car was actual insanity
Armored_Guardian@reddit
I mean, McLaren made a road car literally just named after F1
gimpwiz@reddit
Yeah but it was really cool so it gets a pass

“MP4” came from the merger with Ron Dennis’ Project 4 team, and lasted until he left. Wouldn’t make sense to bring it back now, especially outside of F1

Didn't know McLaren was also planning the customer track car route like Ferrari did. That's cool that some manufactures are pursuing the ethos (kinda) of the original draft of this ruleset.

Sounds like a Citroen utility van or a vanity plate. Might as well have named it the GRGL-BL.
