How to make people better at math

So you all know the abbreviated date system, like for example if you wanted to say May 27th it could be 5/27. But 5/27 isn’t just a date, it’s a fraction that simplifies to 0.185185… So I say we only say the decimal version of the fraction so people will have to convert it in their heads to 5/27. This will not only allow for a deeper understanding of fractions, but the repeated practice will make people better at overall mental calculations; thus making it a good idea.

How do you know the difference between April 4 and August 8

upgrade OP's idea by saying both the decimal and the month then you only have to calculate the date

That would actually work because you’re always gonna have a decimal value less than one except the first of the month. So you’d have 4.1333 and 8.1333

You must have meant 5,2.
