Just started watching “Vicious.” Love the show. What are others like it?

It is my favorite show I’ve seen this year. It is so witty, funny, and reminds me of all my favorite gay elders in the community.
But are there any other shows like it? Doesn’t have to be focused around same sex couples. Just looking for a show that’s really funny!

Thank you! I remember seeing the promos with Harrison Ford and thought it looked interesting
Automatic-Pie-111@reddit
Harrison Ford is brilliant in this, he can be very funny.

Do you know what, I don’t think I could hand on heart say I thought Vicious was a ‘good’ show, but I really enjoyed it nonetheless.
It’s very much based around 1970’s sitcom conventions (the slightly deliberate delivery, the pauses for canned laughter), so if you didn’t mind something vintage I’d say ‘Are you being served’ is pretty much the kind of show Vicious emulates. Another one is ‘Rising Damp’ which doesn’t have the LGBTQ coded elements of AyBS but is based around bickering housemates and stars Frances de la Tour from Vicious.

You're not wrong but it's worth pointing out that Vicious is far better written than 70s arsegravy like On the Buses etc.

All those elements of the old sitcoms, I absolutely adore. It’s very cozy! But I definitely understand what you’re saying.
Thank you for the recommendations!! I have heard of AyBS and I just discovered Rising Damp due to researching France’s de la Tour’s filmography!!
Would you say Fawlty Towers is in line with this sort of style? I just love old vibes
IllegalWalian@reddit
Yes, Fawlty Towers is the classic British 70s sitcom
ArmWildFrill@reddit
Yeah, I thought it was a bit forced

Miranda was another show from around the same time that used old fashioned sitcom conventions. Some people loved it and some people hated it

check out “catastrophe” for sure
IllegalWalian@reddit
Great show but not at all similar

Gimme Gimme Gimme is hilarious and has the wonderful Kathy Burke in it.

I was going to say this!

“Frasier” walked so “Vicious” could throw shade in silk robes. 😭

I agree!! 🦚

So I presume it's not the gritty sci Fi book about two People who killed one another to try and gain super powers by VE Schwab?
Damn
frankwhitesexappeal@reddit (OP)
Well, no, but would you recommend that book? Currently reading “Ubik” and I’ll be up for another
