Best bus company to and from Dallas?

Looking for bus recommendations for a friend who needs a ride from Dallas to Houston and back to visit.

A lot of people are suggesting Vonlane, and they’re great. But you should also be aware of their sister company, Voncrane. Instead of a bus, you can ride to your destination in a crane.

Flix for cheap, VonLane for nice

I wouldn’t wish Flix on my worst enemy. They’ll be late and no information will be available for hours while you wait in a sketchy area. And on the rare off chance that they arrive early, sometimes they’ll leave 10 minutes before a scheduled departure time. If you weren’t there then too bad. Also you might not even know they left without you because most of the time their bus tracker doesn’t work. Pay a few more dollars for RedCoach.

Does it have to be a bus? If you plan ahead Southwest can be pretty cheap.

Another vote for Vonlane, but I think their cheapest rate to Houston is $129. If you buy at least 21 days in advance, you can fly for $119 (either Southwest b/t Love & Hobby or United b/t DFW & IAH). But Vonlane's definitely cheaper for short-notice trips.
FlixBus really isn't bad (aside from the spotty wifi), plus they give you the option to buy the seat next to you so you're not stuck sitting next to a stranger for four hours.

Vonlane if you want to travel in luxury. Greyhound if you want to catch Covid and possibly staph

Vonlane without question.

I wish Vonlane went to OKC.

My boss uses Vonlane and loves it. Much more efficient than air travel, and you can easily get some work done and not have to worry about traffic.
I’ve also seen Flix. I don’t know anything about them but I regularly drive from Dallas to Houston and see them.

Vonlane

Used Vonlane for a trip to Austin last year and it was pretty solid experience. The seats are way more comfortable than regular buses and they actually have wifi that works most of the time. Only downside is they're bit more expensive than other options but if your friend values comfort over saving few bucks its worth it. Just make sure to book in advance because popular routes fill up quick especially on weekends
