Spent weeks planning this build — be brutally honest.

Hey everyone, just finished planning my first PC build and would love some feedback before buying:
CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D
GPU: RX 9070 XT 16GB or the 5070ti (i haven’t decided yet)
Mobo: MSI PRO B850-P WIFI
RAM: G.Skill Flare X5 32GB DDR5-6000
Storage: Kingston NV3 1TB
Cooler: Deepcool AK620
Case: NZXT H5 Flow 2024
PSU: MSI MAG A850GL 850W Gold
A few things I’m unsure about:
Is the MSI PRO B850-P WIFI a solid choice for this build, or is there a better option at a similar price?
Idk about the case, is it great for airflow?
AIO vs Air — For a 7800X3D specifically, is there a meaningful performance difference between an AIO and Air, is air cooling sufficient?
Primarily building for 1440p gaming. Any red flags or suggestions are appreciated — thanks!

Well this is a pretty solid build all around, while that motherboard isn't my first choice it is a pretty capable board easily handling just about any CPU u might put on it.
As for the GPU if u are ok with slightly worse features (and I mean slightly) and want to save money the 9070XT is a great option, now if u want those premium features and top tier Raytracing then get the 5070TI
Case is fine no real issues with that though there are normally better cheaper options out there, and on that note Id say Air vs liquid a 7800x3d will be totally fine on an AK620 that cooler is a beast Id only get liquid if u want the absolute lowest temps or the look of one
cant really suggest any major changes (not that any are really needed) since I dont know what region u are in

I think, and this may be controversial, that if you can afford the 5070ti just get that. Anything below it go for the 9070xt (we’re assuming gaming only here)
I think the performance between the two is so close that feature set is what wins it and DLSS, frame gen, it’s all just better on RTX even if AMD have made huge strides since last gen.
Anything below a 5070 Ti though I think you’d have to give me a pretty good reason to choose it over the 9070xt or the 9060xt at the lower end too. Really makes me wish that they did a 9080xt

There is no cooling performance difference between air and water cooling. The best off the shelf air cooler, the noctua nh d15 g2 cools better then any off the shelf water coolers. Water cooling can do better tho if you go custom because you can scale up the water mass ridiculously.

What? The D15 G2 will not beat most 240mm AIOs, noise normalised or not. Its enough to cool a 7800X3D, sure, but a 360mm that's half the price will run circles around it.

You should get the latest GOAT gaming king cpu, the 9950X3D2, as the one you suggested is too dead, dated and unusable by AMD and PCMR standards.
xagds@reddit
The 7800x3d is not dead my man. Especially if he wants to save some bucks and still have a killer cpu
AlfaPro1337@reddit
It is dead, dated and unusable my man, why do you think people dumped it for 9800X3D, later 9995WX, later 9850X3D, now 9950X3D2?

A couple notes -
The Kingston NV3 is a perfectly fine drive but I'd recommend considering other options based solely on price at the time of purchase - frankly you won't see much difference. This link should show pretty much all comparable or better drives; sorting by price should enable you to identify the cheapest one and I'd say just get that, might save you $10 or so for zero loss.
Are you in the US? Because I don't know that you'd be able to get the Deepcool AK620 readily unless it was secondhand if you are. If not, unless you're pretty attached to the AK620 for a specific reason you might want to look at similar alternatives like the Thermalright Phantom Spirit &etc for similar reasons as the SSD.
General configuration I think is great but if you can save a few bucks and won't lose anything why not, you know?

I’d probably go for an AIO, maybe by NZXT since you’ve got the case.
Otherwise I’m jealous. I don’t have the funds for a new build right now.
