Do you defer your Sunday Roast to a Monday on a Bank Holiday?

After just finishing a roast on a bank holiday Monday, got me wondering... Is this normal or is this sacrilege? A 'Sunday' roast seems to round off the weekend so perfectly, for me, the natural course of action is to defer.

We did but wouldn't call it deferring, were just tired on Sunday. I'll happily have a roast dinner any day of the week.

I live alone and work Sundays, so a Sunday roast is a thing of the dim and distant past.

Don't have Sunday roasts. Just roasts. Can be any day of the week, muliple days in the same week even. Seems weird to restrict a meal to just 1 day.

Growing up my family almost always had a roast dinner on both Sunday *and* Monday, and we still do that now. Not sure how common that is but having a roast dinner on a Monday isn't unusual to me, in fact we had day two today (turkey) 😅

I worked in a pub about a decade ago where I'm pretty sure we did roasts on bank holiday mondays - no idea if that's ever been a common thing What would I call it? Probably "Bank Holiday Roast".

We have a roast once in a blue moon but this makes perfect sense to me! And I love blue_rizla's method of doing a bigger roast for Monday leftovers.

No. I take the opportunity to have an extra day of cooking something fancy which I wouldn't normally have time for. Today was a six hour BBQ of pork belly burnt ends.

We actually did. Mainly because the kids ate too much cake at a birthday party and didn’t fancy cooking the rest of the roast to a chorus of ‘I’m not hungry’ so deferred a day.

I’ve never heard of deferring a Roast to a Monday because it’s a bank holiday (family always still went with a Sunday roast), however if that’s the way you prefer it, then don’t allow anyone to “yuk your yum”.
