What are these brackets on my swim step?

New (to me) sailboat. These brackets look like you could slide a flat piece of metal with a post in the middle into them. Possibly for some sort of dinghy mount?
If anyone knows what these are, I would greatly appreciate learning what those are for. Thanks!

They are for a dinghy lift

Look on the boat the brackets may be there somewhere if you didn’t get the dinghy with the purchase of the boat

Any idea on the brand of those? I would like to buy some.

They're called Weaver davits

Awesome! Thanks!

FYI: they require things to be glued to the dingy.

I hadn’t gotten that far, but was suspecting that was going to be the case. The current davit system just lifts the dinghy right out of the water and it dangles, resting against the transom. Definitely good enough for now, but I may fiddle with it later when the boat project list stops getting longer instead of shorter. :)

So, never?

lol.
The list has gotten shorter over the last few weeks. I tackled a bunch of the low hanging fruit and knocked it all out. Now I just have 3 major projects to do and I can slow down a bit. A thru hull needs replaced, the wood under my battery bank needs to be replaced, and the new chart plotter / radar needs to be installed. That should keep me busy for a while.

I’m curious about the canvas snapped on to your transom. That’s also unusual.
WaterChicken007@reddit (OP)
That is to prevent things from going overboard. It still allows water to flow out of the cockpit. If it got swamped, the snaps would give way and it would drain quickly like it should.

393?

Looks like one to me!

Yes, a Beneteau 393. Good eye!

American or French? 2 cabin or 3? We need deets lol
WaterChicken007@reddit (OP)
American, 2 cabin layout. The aft cabin is HUGE (for a boat). Basically a king sized bed with a nicely angled backrest you can sit and chill if you like. We are loving it so far.
Current sitting on a mooring ball, but we were at anchor in an amazingly beautiful cove a few nights ago. I had feared I was making a very expensive mistake buying this, but am a very happy boat owner at the moment. The bald eagles, herons, and sea doggos are keeping us company. Nobody else is here. It’s awesome.

We've got the little brother 361. We also have the two cabin with the massive bed. It's bigger than out bed at home!! It's a great family of boats.

Yeah, I am really liking it. There are some things I am not too keen on, but all boats have compromises. Overall she sails quite nicely and is easy to handle. She is also very comfortable to live on. I feel very fortunate to be able to do this.

My friend has the same boat / layout. I do like the canvas item saver under the capt seat. We’ve lost a few items overboard that way.
WaterChicken007@reddit (OP)
The canvas is secured by some snaps and will let small amounts of water out just fine. If the container cockpit ever got swamped it would likely rip off and let the cockpit drain almost instantly, which makes me happy. I am glad the previous owners took the time to have it installed. They set this boat up really nicely.
