It grew on me.
Own-Witness-4263@reddit
This ain't shit. Who remembers the Braniff Airlines planes? They were all different colors. You could fly Cleveland to Dallas on a red one, get on a yellow or purple one to fly back home.

As a Korean I love to see new livery it feels new and getting off the old bad images from 00s to 2010s

Pepsi for sure. I’m out of the loop, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this was private equity enshitification at work, like McDonalds’ shift to the green and brown livery. Sad times.

I think the process is called blandification:

I've seen this exact pattern in a lot of brands over the last decade. It's not necessarily private equity, but I guarantee someone convinced people that the design was too complicated and had too many colors, and that by simplifying and reducing the number of colors, they could save money and time and effort. Look at the new Pringles design, where they took detail and number of colors out, or just the number of brands who went from a 5+ color brand to a 2-3 color brand.
Standard_Onion_1184@reddit
Pringles is a great example. I’ve seen people talk about this in relation to the narrowing of car color options as well.

They wanted to make a modern one,but sometimes a change is worse. In this case, designing a new one isn’t the answer. Putting more vivid detail and color on the old one instead would look even better.

100%
nextgeneric@reddit
I think a lot of people resist change.
46656_@reddit
I’ve seen some people talk about wanting to keep a bit of red, but I bet they didn’t wanna look too much like TUI Airlines’ livery with the colors, lol. (I agree with everyone saying the old one was better though, much more recognizable!)
Live_Ad8778@reddit
I recognize that gate.
Honestly if they kept bit of the red I probably wouldn't look as bad.
adjust_your_set@reddit
I recognized the SkyLink tracks 😂
Fill-in-the____@reddit
A thin red stripe between the blue fading into the gray belly I think would look nice.
B777X_787-9@reddit (OP)
Probably yes

Like a red stripe
Live_Ad8778@reddit
Or a gradent on the tail emblem and lettering.
B777X_787-9@reddit (OP)
Hmm yes
ballimi@reddit
Everyone here always says that old is better, no matter the livery/airline.
Fluffy-Proof-5175@reddit
Not always, people seem to enjoy the current United livery.
meh_whatev@reddit
The thing I mostly see is people missing the old logo
meh_whatev@reddit
Neither, old needed to change, new one is nothing spesh but not to the point of missing the old one
Rook8811@reddit
Wait Op your a pilot ?
backpackyoghurt@reddit
Pepsi 😔
duckntureen@reddit
Team Pepsi all the way.
GeraintLlanfrechfa@reddit
Aye, Pepsi it is.

AdvancedLow4851@reddit
the new one is modern... i can only say... it aligns with 2026
glumanda12@reddit
New livery with old tail logo. Looks like klm now. Boring.
Camjay7@reddit
The old livery is dated and is associated with quite a few accidents including Flight 801. With the merger with Asiana they wanted to shed their old identity and start fresh.
kgaviation@reddit
The new is growing on me. But it still gives me KLM vibes. I prefer the new blue though because it’s metallic and has flakes in it.
B777X_787-9@reddit (OP)
But looks pretty boring
peterpanic32@reddit
The blue on blue looks boring, but the new pale blue is fine - if they'd just kept some more character to the livery instead of going two boring tones of blue.
Antelope-Subject@reddit
Pepsi clear all the way.
B777X_787-9@reddit (OP)
👆🏻this ,old is better
Grouchy_Bicycle8203@reddit
Looks good to me both then and now.
mcwobby@reddit
I think the new looks better in person.
But the previous was my personal favourite livery and I think one of the all time great airline liveries.
B777X_787-9@reddit (OP)
Hmm nah
WellTextured@reddit
Many branding changes grow on people over time but this one sucked at first and sucks now.
It's Seoulless.
B777X_787-9@reddit (OP)
And will suck for several years.
Monkeyfeng@reddit
Everything is so glossy and shiny. I don't like it. Their safety video is also creepy as well. The lady in the video looks like an AI fake or someone with very weird make up. It's really strange to look at.
B777X_787-9@reddit (OP)
AI made 💩🤮
Own_Place909@reddit
The new is objectively more modern looking and the old livery was beginning to look quite dated, but that blue on blue is so boring. Even just making the lettering and logo white or having pop of red somewhere would’ve made it look so much nicer. As it is it kind of looks like an MS PowerPoint title card template.
B777X_787-9@reddit (OP)
KLM vibes,kinda losses originality
