Should I get a 1440p monitor 4k tv for AAA gaming?

so I just got a 5070 ti but I'm not too sure if I need a 1440p ips monitor or an 4k qned tv, I mostly play AAA games and the tv I want is 50 inch and the monitor is 32 inch. I'm just not too sure if 32 inch is big enough. I've never play on a monitor and have only played on a tv. do you guys who have a 32 inch monitor (and also everybody else) think that I should go with a 4k qned (ips) 50 inch 120hz or a 1440p ips 170hz gaming monitor?? also the price of the tv is exactly dubled the monitor (tv: lg qned81 ultra hd 4k tv) (monitor: msi g321q wqhd monitor) pls help. thanks in advance:)

Have a Oled 4k120hz 65in Tv and later bought an IPS 32in 1440p165hz monitor. Used the monitor for like 2 weeks and now it's just collecting dust in the corner. Since you said you're mainly playing 3A, I'd just get the tv honestly. And it's much much better when you have company over.

Really depends entirely on the setup. If he's at desk with kb+m in a standard setup, 60"+ seems comical to me lol. Like sitting front row at the movie theater, gonna hurt my neck if any of the action is above my character 🤣

Well yeah, thought that was implied lol. 60 is huge even from 5m away. I did make a homemade kb/m stand for my couch before I got the monitor tho, was decent for non-competitive games when you want the kbm precision and the couch comfort haha

You're going to get a lot of opinions one way or another on here. None are more valid than the others, and ultimately it's going to come down to your own preference.
I considered both last year, like you are right now. I ultimately decided on a 1440p 34" OLED Ultrawide. I preferred the features; I like that it was built and optimized for PC gaming as opposed to a TV which is more generalized. I also like how it looks on my desk more than a TV would have (I have a stacked monitor setup with a 27" IPS 1440p monitor on top for Discord or whatever else). It was the best choice for me.

you know I wanted to go with a 34 or 40 inch ultra wide but unfortunately I found out some games don't actually support ultra wide, even if I use ultra wide support mod some game would still look bad bcuz they won't support it.

I've never run into a game that does not support 21:9. And I play a wide variety of games from AAA to indies that no one has ever heard of. (Okay, slight lie, one Steam Next Fest demo did not support it, but it did on full release). 32:9 definitely has more compatibility issues.

Monitors are smaller because we sit closer at a desk. TVs are larger because we tend be sit on a couch/sofa further away.
Which one is better for your is entirely your opinion, as you're the only one using it.

if I get a monitor I would probably sit like 1 meter away from it or even less, if I get a tv I think I would be 2 or 3meters away. but u still can't decideÂ

I find I have problems seeing certain details, particularly small text on my TV, even though its technically higher res than my monitor. It also has to be connected via HDMI which depending on which version of HDMI your hardware has, it may not be able to handle higher refresh rates.
Careless-Bird3452@reddit (OP)
what do you mean? I didn't understand the last part you said about HDMI and refresh rate
RobertoPaulson@reddit
Different generations of HDMI have different maximum supported refresh rates. HDMI 1.4 can only do 30hz at 4k. HDMI 2.0 can do 60hz at 4k. And HDMI 2.1 can do up to 144hz at 4k. You need to know what HDMI version your GPU, and the tv are equipped with to determine the maximum refresh rate you’ll be able to achieve via HDMI. Your 5070 is 2.1b so its good to 144hz. So you need to make sure whatever TV you buy is HDMI 2.1 or you’re stuck at 60hz.

TV for anything other than fine text.

Umm… get what you want

Don't get any 50" LG QNED TV.
Get a 42" or 48" LG OLED TV or a 55" TCL QM751G, QM7K or QM7L.
AShamAndALie@reddit
Get a 42-43" TV, its the perfect size to use as a monitor, very similar PPI (pixels per inch) compared to a 1440p 27" monitor.

yeh I'll try searching for one

42” LG C4 OLED, sitting at my like it’s a monitor

Best buy had these ona bonkers sale early this year.
I have a separate pc setup I use for work stuff. If I'm just gaming, this monitor/tv does the job
SgtBaxter@reddit
is this going to be for a desk set up or a couch set up?
For a desktop setup you'll want a 4K 32 inch. 1440 is on the low end of resolution for that size. Personally for me, anything over 32 inch that close is too big. The 32inch on my desk fills my vision compared to the 65 inch TV above it when I'm watching that from viewing distance.
If you're playing by controller on a couch you want the larger.
Careless-Bird3452@reddit (OP)
mhm yeah, I mostly play in controller in my room so my desk and couch is mixed in one room
