Dallas remodel permitting question

I have a 1950s home with a jack and jill bathroom layout that I want to remodel into two entirely independent bathrooms (i.e., demo, add a new interior wall, plumbing for a tub in one and a shower in the other). How easy or hellish is the Dallas permitting process for something like that? I have no experience with it but I've heard it can be a pain.

Hey OP, residential remodels are about as easy as it gets. You don’t need an architect, just grab a ruler and draw it yourself on an 1/8 or 1/4 scale. The worst part is navigating DallasNow.
The problem is, we put in an absolutely horrible online permit system. It’s very bad, and we are running behind because of it. So it may take a couple of weeks. A couple years ago, you’d have the permit the same day.

Hey there! I’m actually a general contractor in dallas.
Depending on the overall layout, it’s probably best to get a set of plans done so you know exactly what you’re getting. The city will request them anyways!
We usually do design agreements for this kind of thing. I’d love to help out!

Sounds like just an interior permit is needed. Shouldn't be too bad at all to apply...

What happens inside the house, nobody needs to know about.
