5070ti or 9070XT

Trying to decide if I should get the 9070XT or the 5070ti. I had a 9070XT and returned it due to drivers crashing. I am not sure if this has been fixed or not. I always had errors saying it needed to be updated with the new drivers and there was never an update. I returned it to Amazon and am back in the market again.
The 9070XT I had was the gigabyte so not sure if that is the issue or if anyone else has input or had similar issues and found fixes that worked. I search everywhere and nothing I could find back then work.
Any help is greatly appreciated! Looking to it this week

depends on price difference obv at the same price the 5070 ti is better but it depends on the price gap.
I have used most cards this gen 9070 xt, 5080, 5070 ti ect and haven't really had many issues with any
AffectionateShip5289@reddit
What if I could get the 9070xt for 650€ of the 5070ti for 900€ ?

Yeah, the 5070ti is around $1200 and the ASRock I was looking at is $710, the Sapphire is $799. That is the other I looked at. I’m was hoping it was just the driver issue, but I have no idea
StunningPush8421@reddit
bruh yeah get the 9070 xt at such a massive gap
Eastern-Implement828@reddit (OP)
Right! Looking at doing it through Amazon so I have a 30 day window in case the driver issue happens on the new card
StunningPush8421@reddit
the only driver issues I had on my 9070 xt was crashing with PT in cyberpunk which was fixed and there was a work around and then UE 4 Rt stutter which hasn't been fixed but isn't really a big deal.
Like obviously the 5070 ti feature set and path tracing is going to be better but which such a massive price gap it doesn't make much sense

I was shocked when I saw the price gap!! I had a good performance with the 9070xt I had just the driver issues. Only thing I could think were settings were off. I have been back to playing on my PlayStation and I hate it 🙃. I want my PC running again lol

AMD is rapidly costing my sanity as a 9070 XT user (Sapphire)...
It is extremely hard to recommend going back to AMD if you've already experienced some of this.
The driver issues are worse than ever. Suggested fail safe 25.9.1 no longer works for me with AMD Adrenaline software. Lost all software gaming settings, performance monitoring, recording etc. Latest 26.3.1 drivers crash every 15-20 mins (driver timeout).
This is the drivers / software rather than any hardware issue from what I can tell. Some high end OC cards might be less stable... But hard to imagine anything worse than this!

Did u try DDU and install drivers fresh? I say this because on my Nvidia GPU doing this fixed some issues I had after recent driver update. Fixed all my stability issues I had. It's never crashed on me, but my HDR was acting up and I had some latency issues until I did DDU.
Eastern-Implement828@reddit (OP)
Yeah I did try that. When I get the new one. I’m going to do a fresh windows install
Own-Indication5620@reddit
I wish you the best. With my AMD card I did all that. Fresh Windows install, fresh drivers, so many things. Registry changes, different driver versions, etc. Could never fix the hardware acceleration issues which were causing screen flickers and freezes depending on the application. It was weird because games were mostly fine, but most applications would never work properly as normal.

Hey, do you have an ATX 3.1 PSU? I have read that older power supplies can't handle the transient spikes these cards get (up to 600w) and it's one of the possible reasons for driver crashes. Asking on behalf of someone else, I don't want to suggest this card to them if it has genuine issues with drivers crashing
Eastern-Implement828@reddit (OP)
Yeah it was a new PSU. I thought about that too. Check and it’s a fully compatible with the new cards
eBurro@reddit
This is using a Corsair RM850e / ATX 3.1 PSU (850W) which is probably close to min spec as I'd go.
Card is pulling \~350W under load supposedly. Rest of my PC is pretty basic otherwise. Not noticed any issues there. *Should* have enough headroom with that.
Weird thing is it originally worked with older drivers for \~3 months, so not wanting to blame the PSU alone!
Deesoboodent@reddit
Yeah, definitely doesn't sound like a headroom/PSU issue.. Thanks for replying, it's looking like a 5070 ti is the safe option for someone who isn't into troubleshooting stuff
Solary_Kryptic@reddit
Haven't had a single crash so far, maybe software conflicts on your desktop or just a faulty card
eBurro@reddit
The only workaround was to fall back to safe drivers from \~Sept last year.
However as of May 1st there's now a version mismatch and Adrenaline software just stopped working. I've spend the entire weekend trying to get this working again...
Forces a driver only installation so lose all FSR settings or other tweaks.
Not alone in this: https://www.reddit.com/r/AMDHelp/search/?q=Driver+timeout

Unlucky for those affected I guess, been flawless for me since buying the card in December
Eastern-Implement828@reddit (OP)
Yeah that is the issue I had. I had the 9070XT OC from GIGABYTE. I love the idea of the 16GB of VRAM. But idk anymore. The 5070 feels worth getting 🙃
Own-Indication5620@reddit
5070 all u really need. 5070 TI is worth saving up for if you want to play more 4K or use RT/PT at 1440p.
GeassAye@reddit
On average, in 1440p, the 5070ti is only 5-7% better. If you think this is worth the $200 price difference, go ahead.

Thanks! I’ll check out the channel a little bit

I would take the 9070xt. it is almost 200 bucks cheaper than the 5070ti. but nvidia does have the frame gen and ray tracing so if you want premium go with the 5070ti. but if you want the best value i would go with the 9070xt.
Eastern-Implement828@reddit (OP)
Is that what you use? Have you seen any issues with the dxgi error device hung error I have been seeing come up?
Independent-Fill-407@reddit
yeah i use it and i haven't had any problems.
Eastern-Implement828@reddit (OP)
Which model do you have? I looked at the ASROCK Steel Legend and that is the one I have added if I go that route
Independent-Fill-407@reddit
i use the ASRock AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Challenger and its great. at my micro center is 690 bucks so i get the same performance as a 5070ti for 310 less dollars
