I’m from Indiana, so Garfield was EVERYWHERE….long after its heyday, since Jim Davis was from Muncie. He actually taught at BSU and maybe still does…not sure. But yeah, even Garfield themed BSU gear was decently big when I was in college.
And it felt like every guidance counselor was required to have the “don’t ever give up” poster displayed somewhere in the 1990s….
Diffusion. He's learning by diffusion. Osmosis only takes place in a water environment. My chemistry teacher was quite insistent on this.
I think osmosis is the more popular word because there's an element of onomatopoeia. Saying osmosis sounds like something squeezing through a tight area.
I distinctly remember one where it's a person on a really small planet that read something along the lines of, "This is your planet. Take care of it." I'll have to see if I can find it.
It stuck out to me because I remember thinking how inconveniently small the planet was, and that there really wasn't a whole lot of room for the guy.
A neighbor a few blocks down was a retired teacher and had stacks of Garfield posters that she gave to me and my brothers. We use them and wallpaper our wall with them.
I feel ancient looking at these. I remember one next to the first with the ninja turtles back to back saying "cowabunga. Reading is totally rad" or something.
