Be aware of companies like this

Was looking at a website for driving jobs didn't apply to very many this one right from the jump started calling me then I got this email. So what is the starting rate 70 cpm or 75 cpm? I don't know if any company starts anyone out that high.

They have a minimum pay guarantee
mvamv@reddit
You have to meet certain conditions to even get it.

FishermansPlatter@reddit
What is this post even about? You not doing any research?
No_Waltz5489@reddit (OP)
No the simple fact that they put 2 different starting pays I know enough about the company that I would have to be extremely desperate for work to work for them and I probably wouldn't even stay with them
Fluffy-Dig-2094@reddit
They put ads on craigslist for every city and state so each one can be different. I use to work for them. The catch is with the guaranteed pay is you have to stay on the truck 7 days. 7days not 6days 23hours and 59 mins the full 7 days or they pay drops to miles driven at the cpm they offered you. If you are on a long run making great time they will have you swap loads with a driver that's low on hours that may deliver 100 miles from where your at. I stayed for a year and never did a 34 hour reset. When I was low on hours they would have me deliver other people's loads which didnt require driving but alot of sitting in docks which you suppose to be in the sleeper. After that you will start recapping hours until they can give you longer runs again. They also don't pay all the miles either, its zip code to zip code so you will lose 10 to 15 percent of your miles. You drive 2000 miles you will actually get credit for 1700 miles. This company is great for people that cant time manage but dont want to go home because you will get the guarantee. When you finally do go home that check will be the one you get paid for the miles driven minus the difference from zip code to zip code. Trucks when I was there were governed at 65mph. They are a reefer company, you will spend alot of time at Tyson down the road from the terminal waiting to get loaded. Loads are heavy and the trucks are midroofs unless they changed that.
No_Waltz5489@reddit (OP)
I've never seen any midroofs of their trucks they told me I'd be home every 2 months they would fly me there and fly me back home. Supposedly because of where I live id be guaranteed the 75 cpm speed of the truck don't bother me none if I'm being honest. I've been in triple digit trucks and I've been set to 80.5 Ive been in 75mph trucks to. Speed wouldn't be an issue.
ChampionshipThin8916@reddit
They are all mid roofs with a wind jammer on top. Never seen one that wasn’t.
No_Waltz5489@reddit (OP)
I never paid that close attention to it if I'm being honest
Dark_Arises@reddit
I have been with them for 3 years, they don't call me just send my loads over. Been driving 7 years.
No_Waltz5489@reddit (OP)
I've been driving 7 years as well
Dark_Arises@reddit
There dedicated fleet pays 1715 a week, if you are on the east coast you can take your truck home
No_Waltz5489@reddit (OP)
Not according to their recruiter he said they would fly me home
Dark_Arises@reddit
They don't tell you about dedicated you have to ask
No_Waltz5489@reddit (OP)
I'm not looking for dedicated I've done that and it gets old fast at least it does for me. Regardless they told me I had to fly home every 2 months.
Dark_Arises@reddit
It's still otr, we do all states
Fluffy-Dig-2094@reddit
They may have changed the trucks but what i mentioned was when I was there. That was like 8 years ago. They may have even turned the trucks up but I doubt it. When I was there the guarante was 1250 a week. I will say that's really nice of them to offer to fly you home, so are they paying for the Uber or taxi to and from airport?
No_Waltz5489@reddit (OP)
Oh no the trucks are still 65mph trucks from what I've seen. They said they would pay the flight home and flight back to the truck. I assume id have to pay for the ride home or have my family pick me up. Id rather not fly anyway

if they’re dodging a simple straight answer on cpm that’s already a red flag, most of those lead sites just shotgun your info to sketchy recruiters who’ll say anything on the phone, 75cpm for a starter is usually bait as hell
No_Waltz5489@reddit (OP)
Yeah only because of the state I reside in that's why it's so high. Secondly they are saying I'm only allowed to go home every 2 months they would fly me home and fly me back yeah I'm good
Fluffy-Dig-2094@reddit
How long was they going to let you stay home for?
No_Waltz5489@reddit (OP)
I didn't get that far and wasn't going to ask
Fluffy-Dig-2094@reddit
Yeah I was gonna say, there are plenty of companies and especially owner operators that will pay the same and give you weekends off. 2 months on the road is crazy.
No_Waltz5489@reddit (OP)
I mean to be fair I've literally lived on a truck because I was homeless and didn't have anyone I could live with or stay with and just didn't see it worth it to have bills for a home I'm only going to see for 2 days a month but I've got 3 kids now and I need a job where I'm home more than once a month
ChampionshipThin8916@reddit
What state are you in?

I've got two friends that worked there. One was okay with it to get started, get his home loan for his house and then after he got his down payment together and his loan set up he dipped and went elsewhere. The other friend absolutely hated it. He said they work you to death for that guarantee. Hardly ever get a reset, if you ignore them they will GPS track you and call the gas station or truck stop you're at or call the cops "to do a welfare check." He wouldn't go back there he said if it was $2000+ per week because of how they are.
No_Waltz5489@reddit (OP)
Well running hard won't be an issue with me but I'm not staying out for 2 months at a time just too go home for 2-3 days
Dragon_Lawyer1985@reddit
Well, that's how they run I think like 6-8 weeks out. If you want your guarantee otherwise they pay you whatever per mile base rate.
Dragon_Lawyer1985@reddit
And they will outright refuse to route you through the house if you're not scheduled for home time.
No_Waltz5489@reddit (OP)
Oh I believe that. That's definitely not worth it
Virtual_Society_1852@reddit
They're a decent company if you don't mind working every waking moment of your life and forgetting what it feels like to be awake and not working. And struggling to stay awake for roughly half of your miles because they count time in a dock and driving empty to a parking space as part of your 10 hour break. And they'll blow up your phone if you aren't moving 10 hours and 1 minute after your 10 started. Ignore them and they'll lie to the police and ask for a wellness check to get them to wake you up.
If their drivers realized how much they're being abused, the company would be gone in a matter of days.
december151791@reddit
Wow, must be a great company to give a .05 raise over the course of 3 minutes
No_Waltz5489@reddit (OP)
😂😂😂
Nearby-Border-5899@reddit
Its a pretty terrible company. Didnt hire a buddy of mine and couldnt even have the common decency to buy him a ticket home...they run midroofs despite running full size reefers.
No_Waltz5489@reddit (OP)
Yeah IDK I'm not trying to stay on the road like that anymore
18-Spinning-Wheels@reddit
I have worked for companies that will pay a driver 0.75/ mile, and the mileage usually is substandard.
OneSkepticalOwl@reddit
Ya know, you'll be a top paid rookie at 65 CPM here at K&B Transportation
No_Waltz5489@reddit (OP)
Definitely not a rookie but I don't know everything either
Jesse182g@reddit
You gotta stay out 2 months but they do pay the 75 cpm.
Hopeful_Dream_2848@reddit
I’ll work for that 🤑🤑💰
unftp-0@reddit
My company pays $0.70CPM and it’s legit. Funny enough I talked to a K&B driver earlier today and said it was the worst company he ever worked for, he said they micro manage you to hell. He was 5 weeks in and is already quitting.
No_Waltz5489@reddit (OP)
Yeah I've heard a lot of that about them id rather work for Western than deal with that
GettingRight2498@reddit
They’re a real company and actually pay that.
No_Waltz5489@reddit (OP)
Only because of the state I live in according to the recruiter
GettingRight2498@reddit
I was told that’s their road warrior pay, for all otr drivers
No_Waltz5489@reddit (OP)
Either way they said I had to stay on the truck for 2 months at minimum before I could go home
billsfan01@reddit
Found them on Indeed. They never contacted me. I ended up finding another company.
