Lexus es 350 full gas tank with super low range?

I bought a 2024 lexus es 350 last year and my total range on a full tank of gas is 270 miles, which is super low. I drove a Toyota Avalon previously that had 350 on a full tank with a similar V6 engine as the Lexus. I’m driving on normal setting (not sport or eco) and I don’t drive crazy or anything like that.
What can I do to increase the total range on my car?

Those numbers are kinda arbitrary, honestly. They will rise and fall. Requires 93 grade, correct?

ES takes 87

Good deal.

My truck usually gets 21 around the city. I noticed it dropped to 15.
I put a new air filter in. Back to 21. The filter looked good and we are in a sandy chalky area.
When was the last time you changed the air filter?
Has the mileage always been bad or is this new?

Total range. How did you arrive at this 270 number? From the display? Real world driving? How large is the tank? What's your average manually calculated mpg? City or highway? Lots of variables. If you really want the answer you will have to do some work.

I drive in the city and get 21 mpg and the tank size is 13 or 16 gallons I believe. I use plus gas (not premium or regular)

2113=273 and 2116=336. Assuming you aren't waiting until it's completely empty to fill up (fill up when it reaches a quarter left, otherwise you will destroy your fuel pump eventually) these numbers add up. If you don't like buying gas as often then get a gas can and fill that up and carry it in your car.

My diesel Jeep Liberty has abiut 19 gallons usable and gets 30 mpg highway. So 500 miles range on long trips if I leave some reserve. Daily driving is about 380-400 miles

The avalons were mostly made with 17 gallons tanks until 2019. Your es250 and the last Gen of the avalon has a 15.8 gallon tank. 1.2 gallons is about 30 or 40 miles. Definately fits in your maths.

The 2024 es 350 has a total fuel capacity of 15.9 gallons.
270 miles divided by 15.9 gallons is 16.98.
That would be from completely full to completely empty.
But you stated in another reply to someone that you're screen is telling you 21 mpg city. Which also means you have fuel left in the tank.
So sorry, but your math ain't mathing.
If you want to know close to exactly what your fuel mileage is... you have to drive it until the fuel light comes on. Add 'X' amount of gallons to the tank and note what the odometer reading is. Drive normally like you usually do until the fuel light comes back on. See what the odometer says. Take that mileage and divide it by how many gallons you put in.

Drive out of the city. The range display just does quick math on your mileage history vs. how much gas left in the tank. It seems like you’re getting 20-ish mpg which is about right for city mileage, maybe a little low. Maybe you drive aggressively or need some minor maintenance.
My local mileage on my truck is always right around 21 mpg. I just went on a road trip that was 95% highway and I got about 32 mpg. Now it’s in my driveway with a quarter tank and the range says 140 miles because it’s still calculating off of my highway consumption.

According to Google they have the same engine and transmission, the Lexus has a slightly bigger gas tank. So go easy on the skinny pedal.

You say you buy mid-grade gas. What percentage of ethanol? What does the owner's manual say about what gas to burn, both octane and ethanol? Are you taking short trips in town or highway miles?

For each car: Year Engine Fuel tank size Curb weight
There is no way to "increase range." You need to figure out the fuel economy you're getting with each car. And you don't know if the engine is the same or "similar," and if the fuel tank is the same size. If you can compare the above criteria, it might tell you where the cars differ. Simple math will give you the fuel economy for each vehicle, just use your trip odometer and keep track of how much you fill up each time.
The ES350 is based on the Camry, btw, not the Avalon.

Check the ecu for codes and trends. Clean maf, throttle body, change plugs and air filter.
