This mornings ration: bulk cereal, powdered milk powder, and well water. Not exactly shitty, just kinda sad :)

1 cup cereal, 1/4 cup powdered milk powder, 1 cup well water, put together and quickly mixed.
Haven't eaten more than once a day all year, but made an exception today :) I'll be stretching that bag until August. First time since last summer that I'm having cereal.
Also figured out how to use the flash on my cheap prepaid cell camera, and it seems I'm able to post more than one picture here again.

Better than nothing, brother. It gets better.

Powdered milk powder

Still unable to find powdered toast :(

Bro, you're looking for the wrong thing. They're called bread crumbs in the store. 😆

I might know a man who can help you, it might require grabbing his buttocks though.

Man.

Is this a Ren and Stimpy reference?
elonmusktheturd22@reddit (OP)
Yes it is
LimpInvestigator1809@reddit
Has to be
I_might_be_weasel@reddit
That's not water colored.
elonmusktheturd22@reddit (OP)
Sulfer in all the well water in the region, slightly stained the jug.
My old place 20+ years ago it was so bad the new toilet turned orange in a month.
I_might_be_weasel@reddit
I assume a water softener isn't an option? What about just a glass jug?
elonmusktheturd22@reddit (OP)
Not sure where to get a glass jug, i knew if a place 2 decades ago, not sure if it still exists or if they sell that product anymore.
mustard seed organic grocery store in Watertown NY, gallon jug of apple juice in a glass jug, had a couple jugs way back when but i tainted one by storing lye water for homemade soap (mixed with old crisco etc, never came out good and i gave up trying), not sure what happened to the other one.
Haven't been out that way in decades. Best i could get locally would be a half gallon mason jar and they don't pour as easily.
fddfgs@reddit
I've said it before but i love the way you write as though you're living in a post apocalyptic wasteland.
elonmusktheturd22@reddit (OP)
I'm just a few years ahead of everyone else lol
fddfgs@reddit
Oh don't get me wrong, I've got a place I'll be going lol
Nowhere near the US but still
Gronodonthegreat@reddit
Watertown NY?! We live very close!
ACcbe1986@reddit
Maybe you find some glass jugs for OP and leave em somewhere for him to pick up.
elonmusktheturd22@reddit (OP)
I am a long way away from there. Half a days drive.
Back in 2013 was the last time i went that way, had to take hazmat scba tanks for inspection/recertification in syracuse, stopped in Watertown on the way for my lunch hour, stopped in the mustard seed grocery store and got a jug. Time before i had gone diwn to the arnot forest near Ithaca in 2009 for a couple training seminars hosted by the saf (society of American foresters) one was sugarbush managment and the other was using a flamethrower for weed control. Think it was 2008 the time before that, went to gander mountain to get a garmin map60csx that i used for work (on my own time with my own money, wrote off on my taxes).
morelikeagirl@reddit
Wow, you have a very good memory
elonmusktheturd22@reddit (OP)
Unfortunately, there is a lot i wish i could forget
Dr_Ingheimer@reddit
You got the ability to get on the internet and Reddit but can’t find a glass jug for sale?
elonmusktheturd22@reddit (OP)
As per internet and reddit. I got a prepaid cell for $30, buy the cards with cash, and my reddit account is not verified (i have no email address). Pay my county and school taxes in cash in person every year. They are very cheap. My shack can't be taxed as a dwelling as it has no foundation or plumbing so my property is classed as vacant agricultural. Technically I'm homeless and camped out on land i own. Rural homeless are invisible because we tend to own cheap land and build a "camp" out of cheap materials. Its a weird government technicality thing.
I_might_be_weasel@reddit
Why do you have a Reddit account but not an email?
elonmusktheturd22@reddit (OP)
Because i don't see a reason to have email, i just made up a long stupid fake email when creating a reddit account.
elonmusktheturd22@reddit (OP)
I only deal in cash, no bank accounts, credit cards, etc, no photo id, no ss card or earth certificate (i tend to burn them).
A long time ago i had that stuff and lost tens of thousands because of identity theft committed by my mother and sister. The only way i was able to put a stop to it was to nuke everything and become a paperwork ghost. They can't steal what they can't find. Been 2 decades like that now and in this age of information gathering its just pushed me further out of society. Either all in or all out, no longer any middle ground. Given the past shit i dealt with and my PTSD i feel safer all out.
Those visa vanilla gift cards are not accepted by most places anymore, they were a middle ground back in 2012 when i used them, but now nobody other than walkmart takes them (as of 2022 when i last had one and nobody accepted them) plus ups and fedex won't deliver here. I tried, nothing arrived, they marked it non-existent address and sent it back. Only the local usps carrier will deliver but not packages.
Ended up the only work around is pay cash to a friend and have him order stuff online, ship to his house, then get it from him, a process that takes months so i only do it as a last resort, basically once a year kinda thing.
Doesn't help that i have very limited financial resources
Dr_Ingheimer@reddit
So all of this is self inflicted nonsense. Got it.
I_might_be_weasel@reddit
Easy to get one for sale. But I don't think OP wants to spend anything.
elonmusktheturd22@reddit (OP)
Want and can't are two separate things, i won't use banks, deal in cash only. I know where to get stuff, like more ductwork for the kitchen counter or a glass jug, its a matter of actually getting to the place that sells it.
I_might_be_weasel@reddit
You can get cheap wine in a gallon jug, assuming you ever use that. $20, but you get a lot of it.
elonmusktheturd22@reddit (OP)
I dislike wine, ive made it plenty of times but just to give away as cheap Christmas gifts.
Use 5g water jugs, apples or honey or wild grapes, a fermentation lock , then bottled in old soda bottles (back when i still drank soda, but its been over a decade)
I_might_be_weasel@reddit
Do you drink at all? Lots of glass bottle options with liquor and even beer.
elonmusktheturd22@reddit (OP)
I hate the taste.
I had half a light beer in 2012 because my crew insisted on it when i threw a party to celebrate completing a massive 3 year project (logging crew, we worked with the state to improve black ash stands with an aanr contract, its a culturally important tree for my former employer, worked for the Mohawk tribe as their Forester).
Think the time before that was early 2000s when i had 3 beers at a 2nd cousins wedding and stole all the tp in the mens room as a prank. I only met some of my uncles/aunts once and have cousins i never met. They all hated my father because he was an asshole.
Before that was when i was about 4 or 5 and i was the forced taste tester fir my fathers homemade wine and shine, if i didn't throw up he threw it out, probably why i hate it now.
prettyhigh_ngl@reddit
I did this with Mead and wild blackberry melomel after I went sober, so what I didn't give away is just aging until I decide to drink it
AgingLolita@reddit
Guy probably needs those minerals
jesst@reddit
OP blames the well water but I grew up on well water (my mum lives on Cape Cod) and it’s never looked like that even when we had sulfur issues. iIf the sulphur is too high you aren’t meant to drink it as it can make you sick.
sorrelsun@reddit
I grew up on iron-heavy well water. It stained everything it touched orange, even after a water softener. This is absolutely possible. Please give OP the benefit of the doubt.
chunkysmalls42098@reddit
Crazy that well water in different locations would have different levels of minerals, who could have guessed that?
I_might_be_weasel@reddit
Did you have a softener?
jesst@reddit
No. It’s pumped into the house from the well at the end of their property. We have a filtration system it’s pumped through, but we definitely have had sulphur issues on the past. The stink is awful. Usually when that would happen we go to my aunts. She is closer to the town centre so has town water.

Lopsided_Tiger_0296@reddit
What did you get PTSD from?
elonmusktheturd22@reddit (OP)
Abusive family. My childhood and teens sucked and so did a lot of my 20s.
A few examples include being denied glasses for 3 years and slapped any time i squinted my eyes, having to sleep on the floor for years, no door to my room, mother would barge in any time i was in the bathroom to shower or shit-just to humiliate and bully me, when my appendix went gangrene and I was pissing blood they just punched me in the stomach and told me to stop crying about it (i literally died and was revived in the or and was hospitalized a long time from sepcic complications), my grandmother would constantly tell me i should have been an abortion since i was 7, i had to wear a coat all summer to hide bruises, passed out with heat sickness a few times, limped everywhere for 3 years from infections in my feet because i had shoes too small (came from salvation army dumpster, already too worn out) and no socks. Heck, the babysitter who used to beat me was on the history channels "women behind bars" series, episode 7, because she got 25 years for beating a 2 year old to death. Pretty sure thats a good indicator that I'm not exaggerating with how shitty things were. My parents beat me a lot too, the rest of the time i played alone in the woods because nobody wanted anything to do with me. Virtually no positive relationships in my youth. I was sexually assaulted in 3rd grade, told my aunt who beat me fir telling her, then my mother did the same when i told her.
Diagnosed serious depression at 16, at 17 my mother got a disability claim on me for it, then argued to retain control over me as a rep payee when i turned 18. Then i was exploited and abused into my 20s, forced to wirk sub minimal jobs (1/5 min wage) 14 hours a day doing demeaning stuff or hard labor and got a beating if i refused, while everyone told me how lucky someone like me was to even be allowed to have a job. Same time i had no heat in my crappy house or water cuz my father took the wood stive and water pump and sold them, beat me for complaining, threatened to have me committed if i fought back (claimed they would make up justification as rep payees on the dis claim which they got because i was depressed because of the abuse), mother kept all the disability money and took loans under my name. i spent years living on dumpster food and had no heat for 2 winters (on Canadian border).
Things were really bad till i got a degree going part time with vesid grants, got a good job that freed me of that shit, changed my name, moved away, cut contact, was stalked and harassed for years till i became a ghost on official records by going to hide in the woods.

Holy shit thank you for the detailed response. You are such a strong and resilient person, I am glad you survived all of that horrible stuff you never deserved
Zealousideal-Cost983@reddit
You didn't deserve that shit. Stay strong.
AlmightyFruitcake@reddit
You should pay the 5 dollars to have the well water tested and if you’re handy you could install a water softener system for a few hundred dollars if you have it

Maybe you could write about your life or your dogs or something like that? Just to fill some time? Although I know you’re very busy with the weather warming up!
KratosOfSparta08@reddit
Why is your well water that color?
elonmusktheturd22@reddit (OP)
Slight sulfur in the well water. Been reusing that jug for years, over time some sulfer residue has built up on it
KratosOfSparta08@reddit
That doesn’t sound safe. If you have the means, you should try getting a Brita filter or one of those straws or something.
emilysavaje1@reddit
The water is safe. When I lived on a well downstate from him we had two filters put in and the iron would still discolor the toilet and stuff like that. The plastic being degraded is definitely not safe and hopefully buddy will find a glass jug soon enough!
Jazzlike_Rooster1358@reddit
