Missing SATA power cable for EVGA Supernova PSU – is it safe to use a cheap replacement

Hi everyone,
I recently bought a used EVGA Supernova power supply, but it didn't come with the original 6-pin to 4x SATA cable. I live in a region where ordering original EVGA replacement parts is very difficult and expensive.
I'm looking for a cheaper alternative, but I'm worried about compatibility. Can I use a generic or third-party 6-pin SATA cable? I've heard that pinouts can differ between brands and even models, and I don't want to fry my SSDs or the whole PC.
Are there any safe "budget" workarounds, or is it strictly "original cables only"?
Thanks for the help!

If you have a multimeter you could test the pinout to verify they are correct. If they aren't get a pcie pin extractor tool and fix it and then test again.
Obviously it's better/cheaper to get one that is correct out of the box.

Original cables only. No workarounds for that.
There are some third party sellers selling "compatible" cables for a specific PSU model, but you're gambling with the safety of your parts.
You can ask EVGA if they can send you a cable. Usually, PSU vendors can help you out with that.

Third party supplier can be fine but it still has to be one that's confirmed to be compatible with your specific model.
