ryzen 5 2400g to ryzen 7 3700x

i found a ryzen 7 3700x for 50 nzd (30usd) on marketplace and the cheapest i can get a 5600x is retail for 260 nzd (155usd) and my budget is very tight. is it worth it anyway? i also have to upgrade the ssd which ill fine later

That is a solid deal on the 3700X. You should get it if you haven't. The 3700X is zen 2 which is a significant jump in performance over zen 1. Plus the 3700X has 2 extra cores and 4 extra threads which are never bad.

The 2400G is only a 4C/8T chip, so OP will get to double their core/thread count for a very cheap price.

It’s a pretty significant improvement. Zen 3 would be ideal, but even going from Zen 1 to Zen 2 is about a 20-25% single thread uplift and a much larger multi threaded uplift.
Do you have a discrete GPU? The 3700X does not have a GPU built into it, so if you are using the GPU integrated into the 2400G you would not be able to make that upgrade.
