It’s so real. So many stories like that.
Electrician paid to do wire work on ceiling. Comes with no ladder. 4-5 hours looking. “Your ISP should run cat6 I can’t”

Or when you go to any public service and bring all of the necessary documents only for them to also ask for:

Blood of a virgin
A rare, obscure calendar that has the 30th of February in it
The death certificate of your great grandpa's second degree cousin
an invoice for the iPhone 27

If somehow you have all of these then they tell you they need official copies and can't take them.

And then they take a 3 hour long lunch break and come back just in time to close up shop.
