Little United App advice

My application has been in at United since 2023, i update after every trip. Is my application dead in their system? Should I delete and resubmit? 3k total time 1500 121 time 400 tpic 121, college degree, volunteering experience including at my old airline, cl-65 and b737 type. multiple internal letters of rec, been to recruiting events, application reviewed by spitfire. No checkride failures. Anyone experience the same thing? have any advice ? Thank you guys

Probably just coincidence but similar situation, spitfire meet greets etc. Had AI rewrite all my duty descriptions to pass filtering systems(that they supposedly don't use) and got called shortly after.
Worried-Ebb-1699@reddit
Oddly enough. You’re updating it too often. Assuming a trip/ week. UAL specifically suggests 1x/mo. Maybe 2.
Go thru next Time with a real aggressive attitude to look over every painstaking word. Improve job descriptions.
One issue I’ve seen done: “I did”, “I enforced”, “I executed”, I followed captains instructions”.
None of those examples demonstrate CRM. Nor do they demonstrate professionalism or SOP’s.
Instead, “we operated”… etc. UAL is HUUUUUUUGE on crm. They expect you to be, too.

Thank you

Do you fly for a UAX carrier?
Gullible-Ability-834@reddit (OP)
Negative
Flat-Row7968@reddit
Add in that you have never hit any bagel trucks while on approach
csquiddy@reddit
Keep updating. It seems the number is 1,000 TPIC, but ymmv.

You can always email their recruiting department and make sure it reflects in their system.. I had mine in and emailed a follow up only to find out it wasn’t reflecting submitted on their end

Soon enough

My best advice is to use your internals for a CP M&G. That’s the best way to move forward at your times.
Did you review your application after Spitfire? What did you think of it? Did they make a lot of changes?
doom_pizza@reddit
You aren’t super competitive yet. Be patient.
TraxenT-TR@reddit
I mean I would disagree (although with spirit on street probably now an agree). I had a buddy with 1200 turbine no PIC similar stats get in recently.
It seems like a lot of people hired either have family at united or got CPO M&Gs
PleaseGreaseTheL@reddit
Maybe nobody has any idea about this, but how many years do you think it'll be for spirit pilots who want to get hired, to finish flooding the system? Is it gonna be rough for new airline pilots for 1 year, 5 years, 10, due to Spirit going under?
beercanpilot@reddit
I’m thinking your buddy is probably the exception not the norm
notagreatpilot@reddit
Everyone I know who got in at United had under 3000tt. I see dozens of 23-25 yo with not TPIC getting on at United. The norm IS the exception for United.
beercanpilot@reddit
I’m sure everyone you know that got hired had less than those stats. The last class had 70 people in it. Im also sure most of that 70 were NOT under 3000tt and 23-25 years old. The people you know are a drop in the bucket of the hiring pool.
TraxenT-TR@reddit
Well that’s just one person who’s a close friend. People im peers with who are all sub 3000TT and no PIC have been leaving in droves from my green LCC to the big 4. Shit I had a Southwest interview and I’m no PIC time and lower TT. The competitive minimums have come down dramatically
WingedWildcat@reddit
We’ll never know what goes into their algorithm. I’m a military pilot both fixed and rotary wing, 3500 TT, 1000+ 121 SIC, multiple Meet and Greets, went to a private event with them at RTAG, 737 and 320 types and I never heard a word. Now flying for Delta. Just keep doing what you’re doing and eventually you’ll get the call.
Negative_Swan_9459@reddit
Having your app in since 2023 when you only had bare ATP mins doesn’t count for much.
It’s still historically a very reasonable hiring market at the top level of aviation right now but your stats are entry level at best.
mfsp2025@reddit
I feel like I haven’t heard of much movement on the United side vs Delta. Seems like literally everyone has an interview or Aon with Delta, both at my airline as well as on Facebook/reddit groups.
United on the other hand, I haven’t heard of much at all. I think I’ve heard they have a pretty high TT requirement. Just my own personal insight though. Take it with a grain of salt
Swimming_Way_7372@reddit
Don't you mean "blue globe" instead of United?
Matuteg@reddit
Do a meet and greet! That’s what got my app pulled 2 days later
blizzue@reddit
Low total time
Flimsy-Ad-858@reddit
General wisdom is never delete, just keep updating.
It's in their new system, right? Not AirlineApps?
Gullible-Ability-834@reddit (OP)
Correct new system. Only reason I ask is because I’ve flown with people with way less experience than me but they’re getting calls and they’ve never met with a recruiter or anything. I’m obviously happy for them but I’d also like a slice of the pie if I can lol
Flimsy-Ad-858@reddit
Don't try to game it too hard on the "this guy got a call with less time than me" thing. I know it sucks but airline hiring is a stupid black box that just gets more irritating the more you actively try to understand what's happening behind the curtain. Just go with the flow, you're doing everything right and you'll get called.
Weasel474@reddit
At this point, only thing I can think of would be app review and attending a meet and greet.
RGN_Preacher@reddit
“Application reviewed by Spitfire” (although tbh I’ve not heard good things about their app reviews).
Probably a chief pilot M&G?
SpiritFlight404@reddit
Have you done an App review?
Desperate_Exercise13@reddit
Keep adding PIC time.
clearingmyprop@reddit
It seems like you have literally everything they want

It looks like you're asking about getting a college degree.
A degree never hurts, get one if you can afford it. Whether it is required today or not, it may be required tomorrow. And the degree can be in anything, the major isn't that important.
Please read our FAQ, which has a ton of information and wisdom about becoming a pilot, including advice on college.
