Grown man with stuffed animals

Casey Jones Dog was a gift from my wife who replaced my original that has been lost to time. The original was a gift from my grandfather when I was a baby. My Pet Monster was a Christmas gift in either 85 or 86. Yeah I'm 49 next week and I still have my stuffed animals.

My mom just gave me my humpty dumpty doll back. She had it in her cedar chest for years. I put it on my bed the first night and my wife was like WTF is that.
kevbayer@reddit
I have a few. I have a teddy bear I got when I was three years old. Plus some star wars stuffed animals, and a Toothless from buildabear that was a gift.
Complete_Demand_7782@reddit
These are collectible items…you should try to collect some serious $$

Picked up the Kenwood's receiver out of the trash. Deoxit and a recap. Plays really nice. The Realistic Radio I've had forever. I also have a 60s Zenith and a 50s Grundig shortwave.
Edward_the_Dog@reddit
I got that clock radio at Service Merchandise back in 1982 when I was starting 7th grade. It worked until maybe 3 years ago.
Own_Celebration5462@reddit
I feel like everybody, or at least everybody’s parents had that clock radio.
Abpoe77@reddit (OP)
It was made by GE and licensed to nearly every other company under the planet

This dude has been around since ET was in theaters

My wife and I got several Build-a-Bears before they sold out and made other people’s creations. I’ve got a big Polar Bear named Fred!
Dextropic@reddit
I can put my hands on the Curious George I've had since I was bald the first time.
BusterBus75@reddit
I forgot about My Pet Monster.
devious_204@reddit
I have your dog's brother. The original lived a full life when I was a kid and was also lost. During the pandemic, I was just scrolling ebay and there he was. Quickest buy ever. Didn't even look at his price.

My Pet Monster!
Own_Celebration5462@reddit
I still have several of my toys in a box. Both my teddy bear and dog are missing noses. I need to ask my mom about that.

I still have my train dog as well as a few others that I’ve given to my son.
kjs0705@reddit
That's pretty awesome. I wish I still had my original teddy bear.
bobj33@reddit
I'm 50 and I've still got all of mine from when I was a kid. We have a pic of me when I was 6 months old next to a teddy bear and I've still got him!
WaterwingsDavid@reddit
I still have my teddy bears from my childhood. Last Christmas I was reading that teddy bears were trending as popular gifts. I now have 3 bears that sit on my bed.
mika00004@reddit
I have a Chef Smurf i was given after culinary school, and I have a white Teddy Bear, his paw pads are shaped like hearts. It belonged to my Mother, she's gone so I have Teddy.
I believe that most people who keep stuff like that, as we get older those things become even more important. A tiny memory, that we want to hang on to. Its all we have left, of that birthday, that last dinner, that last moment, that last time we saw our friend, our family members.
Keep all the keepsakes, fondly remember that moment you opened that gift and who shared that with you. We have all earned the right to snuggle a teddy bear that smells faintly of perfume, and think about those days.

Before my grandfather passed he hugged my monster and I also have his handmade box full of saw blades.
hippiestitcher@reddit
I still have a couple of my very oldest ones, including a koala that was a Christmas gift in '69 when I was 9 months old. I also have more recent ones that I've bought for myself, or my daughters have given me, including a giant Cinnamoroll plush that sits on my side of the bed.
Seabluele@reddit
I still have my teddy bear from my childhood. He was given to me by an older girl in my neighborhood when I was about 3, and I’ve cherished him the last 57 years!
I also have a crocheted stuffed turtle as big as a pillow, and I have fond memories of laying on it as a little kid.
Party_Eye9396@reddit
I don't have mych from my childhood but I still have a stuffed lamb from when I was a baby.
sparkGun2020@reddit
Absolutely nothing wrong with loving your stuffies. The hell with what other people think

This comment is definitely underrated!

I still have the teddy bear I won at Circus Circus in 1980. Some things we just don’t give up for reasons, and really, why should we?
Tim-no@reddit
I rescued mine from my parents place a few years ago, now they’re in a box in my basement, but at least my old friends are with me now.
samuellbroncowitz@reddit
I still have a stuffed bart Simpson I won at great america in 1990, a Raggedy Andy that was mine when I was a baby, and a Perry the Platypus my kids wanted to toss.
wwhijr@reddit
I lost mine original ones to an ex wife. I do have a stuffed horse my son gave me, and a monkey from my new wife.
mattgwriter7@reddit
You do you. Anyone not cool with it is... not cool.
Pristine_Main_1224@reddit
I’m jealous! My absolute most favorite teddy bear was lost at some point. After lots of internet searching I’ve found her…for $100+ on Etsy.
graciegirlsmom@reddit
I still have a My Pet Monster too! Also have what I call my lucky puppy I got when I was about 6yo... so almost 50 yrs ago. 👵😆
Dry-Character-6331@reddit
Classic Kenwood receiver. Nice!
ViewfromMyOfcWindow@reddit
Nah, man, that's fine 💜 I still have Yellow Bear from my childhood, and a bunch of other stuffies from later on. Note to self to hug Yellow Bear tomorrow 💛
gardendesgnr@reddit
I have several stuffies and honestly it never occurred to me that at my age, mid 50's, I should not haha. I have a huge stuffed manta ray (obsessed w them), several lambs as this was my 'doll' in childhood. I even have a huge lamb 2' tall, 3' long makes a great reading pillow. I collect Hello Kitty all the way back to 1975 when my Japanese neighbor brought some back for me ea yr from Tokyo. I decorate inside for holidays and have stuffed animals. There are even stuffed animals you microwave as heating pads, I need one but can't decide on one.
StockIndependent808@reddit
The monster sells for over $300 on eBay. My son had the same one.
Open_Appointment1091@reddit
Need to show that Kenwood some love also.
Killertigger@reddit
In troubled times such as these, you take comfort where you can - as long as you’re not hurting anyone else, and it helps you through these horribly times, the more power to you. I wish I had a few stuffed animals to me deal with my perpetual, overbearing stress and anxiety.
snakeayez@reddit
I have a stuffed bear i got from my then gf upon my return from Desert Storm in 91. Has been by my side ever since.
borkborkbork99@reddit
I have a Kermit plush from 1976 in my bedroom closet. He’s traveled everywhere with me since I was a toddler. No shame in that.

I had a dog very similar to that one that I had for years. I also had a stuffed Snoopy and wherever my dad would go out of town on business trips he’d try and bring back different outfits for him.
Dude-Good@reddit
I had same pet monster
scrollclickrepeat@reddit
They are stuffed action figures, thank you very much!
Abpoe77@reddit (OP)
Yes, My Pet Monster has breakaway handcuffs, action. I may still have them in a box at my mom's basement along with some OG Star Wars and GI Joe toys. Going to look tomorrow.

My 26 year old, PhD candidate son called me the other day and mentioned its sometimes hard to find room to sleep because of all the stuffed animals in his bed. You do you, sir. You. Do. You.
Techchick_Somewhere@reddit
I love this. This will be my 18M next year when he’s at school.
warmfuzzume@reddit
I slept with my Xavier Roberts Furskin Bear last night. 😂
This isn’t mine but he looks just like this one, I also lost his clothes long ago but I think he used to have overalls and boots.
