Chucking lead with the Survivalist’s Rifle (and also the forward assist apparently)

Just proof that the AR-15 never needed a FA anyway.

Lol, love watching the forward assist come flying out. I've never seen that before.
I guess its tough with a heavy caliber like this to not flinch. But you can see the clear flinch you have on that last pull of the trigger.
That rifle is beautiful.
_Hashtronaut_@reddit
Lol! Didnt even notice that at first. Havent seen that before either.

Heavy caliber + skinny boy = flinch
smokeyser@reddit
Meh, you didn't really need that forward assist anyways.

Where super safety

Ain’t no way

You can get like 14 rounds in there if you use a 40rd mag.
Sufficient-Appeal503@reddit
What round?
Mrundas@reddit
50 beowolf
liquidfox6@reddit
It’s a spicy round for an AR. I know a guy who built one out but wanted to interchange his 5.56 lower with no mods.
It never cycled well so he doesn’t shoot it much…..to no one’s surprise.
j42d86@reddit
I'm one of those guys, but mine seems to feed just fine 99% of the time. I went with an 11" upper and it's tons of fun to shoot.

.50 Beowulf my beloved. A decade of helping Canadians skirt magazine capacity laws with a legal grey zone
Kindly_Region@reddit
Those are much fatter than i thought they were
M4DHouse@reddit
Well, they’re a half inch in diameter.
ShacoinaBox@reddit
planning on building a 50 Beowulf ar at some point, do u reload it or jus buy ammo? i plan on reloading it (like i do everything) but i haven't rly looked into how accessible projectiles n casings are for it yet
j42d86@reddit
I used to find ammo for mine at Cabela's. Last time I bought some, it was like 1.60/rd. PMAGs work pretty well if you replace the follower. There's a printable one available that works well. I've saved all my brass in hopes of reloading it one day.
Saf3tyB3ar@reddit (OP)
I haven’t started reloading yet but plan to when I get my reloading station set up. Components shouldn’t be too hard to get online. I haven’t seen any components in stores local to me tho.
fullchooch@reddit
I built a .50 beo bolt gun on an AR platform this year...i would not suggest buying factory ammo. It's definitely more efficient to reload after you get some brass.

Fix your stance I weigh 130 and can run 7.62x39 and .308 frts without the barrel moving at all, spread your legs, bend your forward leg more at the knee and your back leg slightly at the knee and pull tight while leaning forward.
Rifle looks dope
Saf3tyB3ar@reddit (OP)
Nah
Thanks
FYIstillplaysleague@reddit
Just trying to let you know, your stance is pretty bad. It looks like you've never tried to improve it since you started shooting.
But it's cool keep posting yourself getting bucked back 🫡
unluckygrey@reddit
You lost your forward assist with that first shot.
Saf3tyB3ar@reddit (OP)
Thanks I didn’t notice
THROBBINW00D@reddit
LOL
JRandButcherpete@reddit
My goal is to build this but in .308 and either super safety or FRT! Great build
Red_Shepherd_13@reddit
Peak.
IudexJudy@reddit
You have to bend your front sight post and use the wings of it as a front sight
Saf3tyB3ar@reddit (OP)
I’ll fix it

.936 FSBs are unobtanium. I'm all for lore accuracy, but no way I'd tear one up just for the memes
VladimirSteel@reddit
Where'd you find a front sight?
Saf3tyB3ar@reddit (OP)
Got lucky and found one up for bid on gunbroker one day
