I played a ton of these bootable games back in the 80s. My very first PC game was Galaxian (IBM-PC port). Good time.

i played this game together with my brother, he had his finger on f1 and shot when i yelled
Admirable-Fail1250@reddit
You're right! Model F. Funny how I didn't remember that.
I still think spacebar makes more sense but I can see why they picked F1.

😄 in the beginning each action was a function. that means a Function key..

Did Paratrooper run in colour on EGA or am I ageing out?
redditshreadit@reddit
The computer in the images has EGA at minimum.
TMWNN@reddit
You either played the game on a TV or composite monitor (this is assuming Paratrooper supports 16 colors on composite; I do not know if this is true), or you played a later, similar game with EGA support.

Memories !! Sweet memories .. Ken sent me.
grover99@reddit
Paratrooper was a game I played a lot of. When I would fight with my brother over who was using the PC, my parents would lock the PC with the key lock and we would be banned for a few days.
The key lock stopped the keyboard from working and the boot would halt.
Paratrooper was self booting from a floppy and could be played with only a joystick.

Loving the CGA gfx.
pedroknd@reddit
Played all those games on My first scheneider euro-pc ii with CGA monitor... Not sure if that was Flight Simulator 4. Oh boy..
mr_dfuse2@reddit
armstrad schneider 8086 with no hd and a black and white monitor, played most of these games on it while my neighbour was already rocking a 386
n1ghtbringer@reddit
Gotta play digger remastered with the /c switch so you get the original CGA graphics!
piloto1969@reddit
got the same monitor, love it, its build to last
gruso@reddit
