These little boxes where the only time I really got to eat cereal. This was our quick morning breakfast while camping. When we were at home we always got home cooked meals for breakfast.
I remember my parents kept the “special drinks”
In the basement, soda- that we were only allowed to have at basically Christmas. Lol. Thankful my kid doesn’t like soft drinks bc some of these kids I have seen …
I remember opening them up like a heart surgeon to add the milk. Didn't they used to have perforations on the front to do just that or am I imagining it?
the little boxes have a permanent link to camping in my mind. waking up in the woods or near a lake on a summer morning, cracking open a box of rice crispies, hoping you didn’t stab the box too deep to open is so the milk doesn’t leak out onto your lap
They need to make this for dog food! My mom’s dog is the pickiest eater and just wants different food all the time. She has so, so, so many bags of dog food to rotate through, this would be amazing!
The only time I was ever allowed to eat these little cereals was when we were traveling somewhere and eating the hotel breakfast. I thought they were the most awesome thing ever because at home we only had plain cheerios.
My grandparents always bought these and to this day my mom still complains that her parents never bought these for her but always had them for the grandkids. We got these for every sleepover at their house and we took them as snacks to the zoo!
These remind me of family vacation. We’d bring a cooler with ice, put milk and other drinks and snacks in it, and then use these mini boxes of cereal with milk for breakfast in the hotel before the days of free continental breakfast
Those little cereal boxes always remind me of hotel breakfast buffets. When I was a kid anytime we stayed at a hotel that had these I’d make sure to get Frosted Flakes or whatever other high sugar cereal I didn’t normally have at home.

My mom was strict with sugar content, nothing more than Honey Nut Cheerios.
Visiting my dad every summer, he’d buy these for us. I loved the Corn Pops
GeeAyeAreElle@reddit
These were very specifically for camping trips in my family. Id hide my favorites after my younger brother got sent to bed 😆
HopelesslyHuman@reddit
Yes. These were a camping treat through and through.
brainvheart143@reddit
We should be friends lol

Used to eat the hell out of these while visiting our camper in MD.

I tries explaining to my kids that "they" gave you one and let you be hungry the next six hours. 💀

Such a pain in the ass to use them as intended.
Successful-Winter237@reddit (OP)
They did
mizushimo@reddit
Every trip I took with family featured that box for breakfasts, I wonder what ever happened to them, they stuck around into the 90s at least
Historical-Piglet-86@reddit
Oh my! Core memory unlocked! Do they even make these anymore?
Zombifiedmom@reddit
Yep. Obviously the packaging has changed, but they're still available. I bought a pack last week lol.
janellthegreat@reddit
Not this variety pack, but yes they do!
Successful-Winter237@reddit (OP)
Good question not sure
SpeedyP65@reddit
For some reason the cereal tasted better out of these boxes
OskeyBug@reddit
We'd take these on vacation and I was always pumped to get "any cereal I want", until there was just corn flakes left.

This is how I imagined royalty ate as a kid.
SmartyChance@reddit
This was breakfast when camping. Cut the box open like doors on a closet, cut the bag open, pour milk into the bag.
No-Hospital559@reddit
Damn. If I opened more than one. I was in big trouble.

Those were cool. I remember we'd get them during the summer, but never during the school year for some strange reason.

haha
Treadingresin@reddit
We got these for camping. Dad would cut the front open in a capital I shape, then you cut pour milk right into it and eat straight from the box.
the_kid1234@reddit
This was the only time we got pops, smacks and Frosted Flakes. It was a fight for them!
brainvheart143@reddit
The fights were EPIC
jambr380@reddit
We never got Honey Smacks besides in these boxes. And we only got these boxes at my grandparent’s house
EBMille4@reddit
Same here. Mom was in either vacation mode or a good mood if we got to have these!!!
the_kid1234@reddit
Yes for sure!
Successful-Winter237@reddit (OP)
Pops 😀
Gwarnage@reddit
I wouldn't fuck with plain corn flakes unless it came from a little box.

Oh man, these were a staple of our camping trips.

My parents would never buy the classic sugary cereals so it was always a treat to get the small boxes at my aunt's house lol

Great for camping or traveling. Just pour milk into the wax bag inside the box and eat with a spoon!!
