I really wanna cut down drinking. Been difficult for years.
mondo_generator@reddit
Same here. I drank a bottle of wine on Tuesday night and felt really hungover all days Wednesday. I dropped my son off feeling like shit and then had to take work calls and calm my anxiety beforehand. And my brain felt foggy all day.
I'm now determined to just stop completely. I don't even enjoy drinking any more, it's just a habit I've held on to because my family are big drinkers.
RoleMysterious8756@reddit
Do it, it’ll be the kindest thing you ever do for yourself.
Appropriate-Rate-336@reddit
Yep same - such a habit. If I’ve had a bottle I feel shit the next day but usually ok if just under a bottle. Depends what I’ve eaten etc. but it’s just not a good routine and I’ve been doing it years under the premise of it’s my relaxation. It’s so bad though for me and I know it’s just crap I’m putting in my body.
goingnowherespecial@reddit
/r/stopdrinking helped me at the start. If you're already questioning the drinking then you're already on the path to giving up. Though it took me probably 6 months from questioning to stopping completely. The good weather doesn't help as you'll know, it's a great excuse to drink. The hardest part at the start is the boredom. You'll also sleep a lot and likely crave sugar. Finding a healthy outlet to replace the addiction with will help.
There's days I miss drinking, but I just play it forward and know the negatives outway the positives.
Appropriate-Rate-336@reddit
Yeah I’m in that group and it def helps. I’ve been in limbo for nearly ten years now🤯 have stints of being af but always go back to it. Just need to make it stick. The boredom is real too. Playing it forward def helps yeah.
goingnowherespecial@reddit
Hope you find what works for you. I know it's not easy.

Thank you 💕

So hard. Nice to unwind but I know I need to reduce.
Doomergeneration@reddit (OP)
How much do you drink if you don’t mind me asking?
Appropriate-Rate-336@reddit
Over half a bottle most nights. Some nights less and now and then will have none but more than likely will drink most nights.
Doomergeneration@reddit (OP)
Bottle of what, wine, vodka?
Appropriate-Rate-336@reddit
Wine yeah

Given the state of the world, not getting nuked or ending up having to fight the neighbours to the death for fuel will be a result.

Ticking off a new country in a couple of weeks with my first trip to Italy. And now I’m 45 and deep in perimenopause I’m really getting into strength training to ease the hormonal craziness and have a healthy old age, currently training towards being able to do an unassisted bodyweight pull up in the next few months…I’ve progressed from the pull up machine to bar with a band, and increasing time on dead hangs so getting there! 💪

I intend to move out of Blackpool this year. Aiming for somewhere similarly affordable, but more central. Currently looking at Stoke on Trent, which is just a little bit more expensive but has much more access to the cities with music scenes I'm interested in - London, Bristol, Manchester is about as accessible, and despite Blackpool being closer to it, Liverpool is easier to get to. Seems ideal.

I bought a whole bunch of clothes with the intention of flipping and reselling. My bedroom is basically a warehouse and I haven't listed anything yet lulz. So, yeah, sell all this stuff and keeping buying stock while the buying is seemingly good. Preferably in that order because this room is about to burst.

I want to clear a shit tonne of debt and get myself comfortable financially again.
I keep looking back at my life four years ago where I had savings, a decent paying job, minimal debts that were typically paid in full every month.
Fast forward to early last year and my business started struggling. I took out an expensive business loan to invest and grow the business without reading the small print and now I’m paying the price with high monthly payments that pay about 10-20% of the actual loan and the rest is just interest. I’ve had to take out personal debts to make the monthly payments, then more debt to pay those monthly payments and so forth and have ended up in quite a hole where some weeks I’m struggling to scrape together for a weekly shop.
I’m managing and getting there. And Rome wasn’t built in a day

Build a catio is also on my list once I can get a bank holiday where I’m not stuck with a migraine to do it (also on the list of things to hopefully sort this year!) or one where we’ve got high speed winds…
onlysmaller@reddit
Get pregnant, get married in that order hopefully. If I can’t do the first it’d be great to lose another 10kg before the end of the year. Obviously not gonna keep trying to lose weight if I manage to get pregnant.

Well, 9 months ago I left my corporate job for what I thought was my big break. Turns out it wasn't, it was a company telling an experienced software consultant what he wanted to hear to get him through the door. I am about to quit and start with another employer who have promised pretty much the same but actually put it in contract so my goal this year is to build the best software implementation team I can!

Cycle more than I did last year, which was 3,000 miles. I'm currently on 1,171, so well on track.
I also need to lose another 3st, after losing 3.5st since this time last year.

Thank you. I've really been enjoying it, more so now that the weather's been excellent.
I've bought some camping gear for bikepacking too. Now I'd just like a nice windfall so I can retire early and enjoy it more.
