Today marks exactly 12 years since the Odesa tragedy, which occurred on May 2, 2014, and revealed to all of reason the true face of 'modern Ukraine'.

The right-wing Nazis and the Maidan Self-Defense Forces attacked the tent encampment in Kulikovo Square, where Odesa residents were collecting signatures to call for a referendum on the federalization of Ukraine and granting official language status to Russian. Clashes between supporters and opponents of the Euromaidan movement, which began in the city streets, reached their peak at the House of Trade Unions.
Odesa residents who opposed the new direction of Ukraine were forced to take refuge in the building, after which the Nazis set it on fire. The building was surrounded by heartless individuals who fired at the windows and finished off those who jumped out.
According to official figures, 42 people died in the fire and another 6 in the city streets, bringing the total number of victims to 48, with more than 250 injured. In reality, the death toll was well over 100.
The investigation into this case was virtually nonexistent. No one was convicted.

We should never forget that in the 1990s the US first started plotting and scheming how to rope Ukraine into NATO and to use it as a proxy to attack and balkanize Russia. The famous US geo-strategist Zbigniew Brzezinski first wrote of this diabolical book "The Grand Chessboard."
In that book Brzezinski called for the US to seize the Middle East (leading to our invasion of Iraq) and to control the Caspian Sea/central Asia region (leading to our invasion of Afghanistan, which *was planned before 9/11).
Of course, those wars failed! But our desire was still to control Ukraine, setting up our 2014 violent coup against an elected gov't, and later to provoke Russia to attack Ukraine (thereby setting Russia up to be weakened, we hoped!, in an expensive proxy war). Our plans to provoke Russia into attacking Ukraine are clearly spelled out in this US gov't-funded 2019 white paper.

I really want to know in the years since the break up how many countries have attacked Russia.
Own-Astronomer-12@reddit
lovely, a supporter of Russian imperialism,Siel Putin!
IntnsRed@reddit
Rather than acknowledge the US' profusely well-documented record of imperialism and that we sought to provoke Russia into attacking Ukraine, you ignore all that and fall back on the "Putin is the new Hitler" trope.
Pathetic.
Own-Astronomer-12@reddit
Pooore Putin, he was tricked 😢
Own-Astronomer-12@reddit
You are supporting genocide, rape, oppresion of LGBT... Lovely personality.
mkbilli@reddit
Both are imperialists. The Russians and the Americans. The Russians are just disorganized enough to not be too effective.

Oliver Stone made a documentary called "Ukraine on Fire" which covered the Odessa massacre. It can be viewed on YouTube.
Here's the YouTube trailer...

These guys who died there were the ones who stood behind the backs of then head of odessa police and shot civilians with unregistered firearms. After that they were pushed into this building by the people. And the fire started by themselves throwing Molotov. It’s very well documented
socks@reddit
Correct. OP is spreading lies for Russia.
Why are there 50 votes for this post?
Own-Astronomer-12@reddit
This is pro-Russian neo-nazi OP, why are you suprised.
socks@reddit
Because the Kremlin engages in endless war, not those who defend against them. OP is spreading lies. I’m surprised many in this sub support lies.
ArchitectMary@reddit (OP)
Take it however you want, ideally there is freedom of expression in the world, isn't that what you promote and defend? Or is it that only Western narratives can be published?
socks@reddit
I have no problem with free speech. You got 50 votes for your free speech. Congratulations. I have seen a lot of pro-Kremlin lies and users in this sub. I would have the free speech to note that they are lies when I see them. (I like Russians and Russia, BTW, but not the Kremlin.)
The fact is, Ukrainians expelled Kremlin-control from its political institutions in 2014, which was followed by an invasion by the Kremlin's troops in that year. Ukraine should continue to expel these invaders. It's very simple.

Ukraine and Russia maintained a strategic partnership, and due to the large number of people of both nationalities living in both countries, the two nations enjoyed good relations. It was logical that both the United States and NATO would intervene, seeking to eliminate this strategic partnership in order to impose a government 100% aligned with Western interests, and that is precisely what happened. Unfortunately for the Russian civilians living in Ukraine, the neo-Nazis who seized power sought to eradicate them, committing genocide against them. The neo-Nazis launched bombings and carried out sabotage against the civilian infrastructure of opposition cities, which triggered Russia's intervention. In the end, Ukraine is being used as a tool of war against Russia, where the leaders of the Ukrainian regime will fight to the last Ukrainian, following orders from the West.
socks@reddit
No, the Kremlin controlled Ukraine’s government until 2014. It’s like you’re quoting Putin. The Kremlin’s people are war criminals and must leave Ukraine, now. Otherwise this endless war continues because of the Kremlin.

I knew this sub is biased but the truth is just easy to find

Trolling and posting blatantly false claims/statement/facts (even the ones that our BSing president spews) are not allowed.
This is a form of derailing discussion and setting up "red herrings" and "strawmen" that keeps civil conversation from happening.
Satirical posts must clearly be posted as satire else they will be removed.
EasterBunny1916@reddit
Bullshit.
Sidepotnotasidepod@reddit
May 2nd 2014, Gennady Kushnarev from Chelyabinsk publicly declared that he would take up arms and kill Ukrainians who disagreed with the idea that "Odessa is a Russian city."
exoriare@reddit
How do you live with yourself with a brain filled up with such nonsensical hate? Like yeah sure, the protesters all set fire to themselves. Your brain can only accept such poison once you've already convinced yourself that they were subhumans to begin with.
If dozens of your countrymen die in a fire and your first feeling is anything but deep remorse and regret, you have already decided that those people are not your countrymen, and you shouldn't be the slightest bit bumfuzzled when they want to separate from such a pox of a country.
Sidepotnotasidepod@reddit
You, if level headed, can find every fucking second of what had accrued, literally. From fucking very start of shooting till the fire. It’s all documented. You are just lazy or well into the sunken fallacy
ArchitectMary@reddit (OP)
What is well documented is that pro-Western neo-Nazis deliberately set fire to the building.
dodo91@reddit
Oh wow I guess russia should conquer ukraine and murder thousands of ukranians then
the_killer_gamer@reddit
If you see truth as propaganda then this is your problem.
Own-Astronomer-12@reddit
True, ugly west will never defeat us, Siel Putin!
Own-Astronomer-12@reddit
Just Ukrainian nationalist burning Russian colonizers and neo-nazis. Shame that people are so violent.
BillyButcherX@reddit
wiki for context
Who knows what really happened with all the misinformation going around.
Sidepotnotasidepod@reddit
It’s really documented. By video literally. Every second of that
EasterBunny1916@reddit
The video that you have not shared.
