Idk if this is talked about enough, but I feel so bad for Love’s employees that have to take the trash out. I just saw a white knight driver empty a piss bottle of the big Arizona in the trash. I can imagine it everywhere else.

It’s not about race or politics. It might be about poverty a little bit, but mostly it’s about education. Learning about this issue needs to be a part of getting a CDL. We drivers are partially responsible for taking care of truckstops and roads, and the land around them. The bigger truck stops could also start an education campaign. But… then they would have to care about their employees to do that.

Yes and no.
Both the flip floppers and the fat gut MAGA are very self-centred so in that sense they’re brothers. More alike than different.
As for education, I mean more is always a good thing but if you’re a adult who thinks wearing flip flops at a un/loading site is appropriate or ingesting beach or horse dewormer is smart well, the whole education short bus may have already left.

Saying, for example, that someone is “ignorant because they can’t read” isn’t an excuse. It’s a fact. Someone needs to teach them to read. It is unproductive to demonize them because no one has taught them to read.

The problem is reading is not natural but social traits are. Most people don't have to be taught to care, that's an innate part of being human as is the inconsiderate temperament they display. It's less education and more who they are.

In parts of India, throwing your trash in the street is common practice. For MAGA, they were literally raised to be selfish and homophobic. Have you ever watched 5 minutes of Jesse Watters on Fox News? And anybody that didn’t grow up with toilets everywhere got pretty comfortable shitting the woods. I’m not defending this behavior. I’ve cussed out plenty of disgusting drivers. I’m just saying, this job attracts desperate people and not all of them have American middle-class manners. Shame and education are the only things that will fix it, not racism and classism.

Why is it that you differentiate maga as being raised that way because of how they grew up and the influences they were around but not parts of India who throw their trash in the street because of how they grew up and the influences they were around?
It's either that they can both be taught better or that they're making an active choice in doing what they do. My position is it's an active choice but it's real weird to me that you differentiate them.

It's got nothing to do with poverty or education. It has to do with their disposition. They are inconsiderate and put their convenience above others and social responsibility. Selfish, entitled, or apathetic to anything that doesn't affect them personally and immediately. There's entire countries of uneducated poor people who would never do this.

I used to work at a loves travel stop in Springhill Tennessee... Worked the overnight at the Diesel desk.... Part of my job was to do the trash at the Diesel pumps... Walked out to do the trash one night and caught this dude taking a massive shit in the trash can... Guess he didn't expect us coming out there. I got as close as I could without puking my brains out, tossed the dude the trash bags, the cleaner and all the rags I had on me and told him to clean it or I call the police... After that, I walked back inside, looked at my overnight supervisor and quit on the spot. I worked there for almost 2 years and NEVER seen anything like that before... They didn't pay me enough for that.

I almost barfed while getting fuel. An employee was pulling out a full bag from the trash can next to the pump and setting it a rolling bin. The bag was clear, and about 25% full of piss. Do you guys just pour out the piss bottles in the trash can?!?!?! Smelled way worse than just piss!

The problem with most of the Loves I’ve stopped at is they don’t have an accessible dumpster. It’s usually a compactor. The only truck stops I see with open dumpsters are typically TA/Petro and smaller chains like Circle K, Quik Trip, Kwik Trip/Star, etc.
It would certainly be nice if Loves would have regular dumpsters… but it would also be nice if all truckers would think of the staff on site when they’re dealing with their piss jugs.

Agreed. If they cannot be emptied in a drain or grass, at least throw them away somewhere that people already know is a likely biohazard and can take the appropriate measures to stay safe.

I've been a trucker for years now, but I used to be a Love's Tire Tech, even then we'd still have to clean showers, take out the trash, etc. At my location back then, there was a whole open area the size of tennis court surrounded by trees, behind truck parking on one side, and at least half of it was covered in trash and piss jugs. We had to police call the whole perimeter of the property for trash, but also clean up that big area of trash. I actually got a bunch of piss on me once from emptying a trash can becausethe lid on a milk jug came off. It was fucking disgusting.

Not a loves employee, but I spent a lot of time at a high school job cleaning up a hay field that was immediately off of a highway on ramp near a small truck stop. It’s nasty yall. It’s fucking nasty. Hundreds of pounds of piss bottles and shit bags.
If you piss in a bottle, throw it in a dumpster. Don’t throw it in a trash can where someone will have to take it out. Don’t throw it on the shoulder where someone will have to pick it up by hand.
