Absolutely, but it’s pretty massive in my country. I’ve given up collecting the comics, because I have about 1000 and no more space, but I keep up with the strip still.
Until I saw the first picture just now it never occurred to me that Phantom Limb was based on The Phantom. It's pretty obvious now that I see that picture. That show is spectacular.
I thought the Phantom was awesome! Defenders of the Earth was the first time I saw the character and always thought he was interesting. The Billy Zane movie was great as was this cartoon. He's still very popular throughout the world except America.
I had a paper route as a kid (about 8-9 years old), so I had to wake up super early to get the newspapers ready. At that hour there was only one station showing cartoons. Defenders of the Earth was one of those on at 6 AM

The snes game was a blast

Yup, my uncle used to do comic covers for the Phantom, and I've got one of his original paintings that was made into a cover in the early 90s.
BusinessYou1657@reddit
Was it used in Frew? I probably have the issue. Can I see it?
detourne@reddit
He used to draw for the Norwegian publication, Fantomet. Not sure if his covers were used in other countries.
BusinessYou1657@reddit
Wow, very cool, but no I have no Fantomet. It’s a great pice of art to own though!

I used to get up extra early on Saturday mornings to watch Phantom 2040. It came on around 6AM.
TheVenetianMask@reddit
I thought anything purple was cool but that's all I ever cared about it, I can't even remember what was his deal.
Cubelock@reddit
Phantom 2040 looks a lot like Æon Flux, which is not weird since it was animated by Peter Chung!
AeonFluxIncapacitaor@reddit
Bingo.
This is why I liked it.
I've never gotten a chance to play it but the SNES game is supposed to be fun.
beccadahhhling@reddit
Saw the Billy Zane movie. Loved it.

The Phantom, The Shadow, Zorro, The Rocketeer, Dick Tracy. All those throw back heros from the 90's were my jam. Loved them then and still do.
johnny_moronic@reddit
Never saw the film, but I did wear the ring from 7/11.
Nobodydog@reddit
I just bought one recently because I have adult money and they're actually pretty cheap on ebay. Felt like a kid again for a moment.
small___potatoes@reddit
Darkman, The Rocketeer, The Shadow & The Phantom were all pretty cool B-list super hero movies

I love all these movies. Definitely guilty pleasures of mine.
