Hope I made a good choice, thoughts?

So, I was torn between these two bikes. I ended up going with the Cannondale. On paper the Aventon had better specs- more power at the hub - about double the cannondales 250w and almost double the range. The tech was way better too. However I live around Asheville NC so I need some that was more robust for trails- the Cannondale has bigger wheels and an aggressive tire. Also I'm not out of shape so although an assist is nice I also want to get a decent workout when I ride. It's lighter not by much but when loading every pound counts and I love that since I purchased it through REI I can return it effortlessly for a whole year. I'm hoping I made the best decision long term though. The Cannondale is kinda dated and I'm not sure if the sale price I got it for is justified. I'm also new to the bike-ebike game. I'm still kinda tempted to purchase the Aventon and then return the one I don't like but is that a thing to do?? I always feel bad making returns.

They are both very similar bikes. Neither is a poor choice. I wouldn’t stress. Just ride the bike. If you find you want things different you’ll be more experienced and knowledgeable the next time you are looking.

Thanks, yeah i really have been enjoying the cannondales. Took them through some challenging hills and terrain and they performed wonderfully. I'm happy with this purchase.

You made the right choice. Cannondale is much better bike and company.

Thanks, yeah I keep coming back and comparing but the Cannondale just checked all the boxes of what I needed. I've taken the bikes out twice over the last week and they are so much fun. The battery life and power are just fine for my purposes.

I think the better choice of two for you would have been the Aventon Adventure vs the Cannondale Adventure, no? Either way it seems like you knew what would have fit you better for your use-case, so it's best to not overthink and just enjoy. 😄

I saw the Aventon adventure and it's a little more expensive but shows impressive specs but what made me choose the Cannondale was the 20lb weight difference. 52lbs vs 76lbs.

Kinda sad how everyone skipped your second photo and text saying you chose the Cannondale. I would've liked to see an opinion on that.

Finally someone who noticed that LOL. Yeah, I probably should have posted the Cannondale photo first.

I just purchased that very Pace 4 and I love it. Rumor has it that they’re coming out with a pace Pace 5 soon,, but I have no idea the price point. My guess is that they will upped the motor to 750.W

If you want a lightweight exercise bike, the Velotric Tempo is much better at $1500.
If you want a more powerful climber with smooth middrive, the Ride1Up Prodigy v2 at $1795 isn't much more. As a low step, it will handle trails better than a step-thru. Also has an air fork and decent components beyond the 90Nm Brose motor.
You'll find people here supporting Cannondale regardless of any spec deficits.

My parents have aventons. My dad has a foldable aventon and my nom has something that looks like a pace or the soltera one not sure what it is. I ride them when I visit they rid great if that helps.
I am thinking of getting an ebike and will likely get an aventon.

Wife and I have the previous versions of the Pace. They're great bikes, but I'd never take them on any sort of dirt or gravel trail that wasn't perfectly flat. They are cruisers designed primarily for pavement riding.

I love aventon bikes so it's a great choice. Like the other said if you live in a really hilly area I would have gone for the aventon level 4
But if you don't it's perfect
gladfelter@reddit
If you're doing trails in hill country then you should have gotten a mid drive. And you choose one ugly bike.
But you're going to love it (except going up steep hills.)

Just got the aventon aventure 3 a month ago and I absolutely love it! I've been riding it across my city damn near every day but the thing is an absolute all terrain beast! I have to imagine the pace 4 also carries the same level of design quality while not being 77 pounds. I must say I'm very pleased with them as a brand so far. Also never feel bad for returning something to a company. No individual person within the company will be offended!
