We have full descriptions of how a lot of ancient Greeks looked and by and far they weren't blonde or fair skinned.
You can take Athens where we have most descriptions of historical persons like Pericles, Socrates, Plato, Aristophanes. Dark hair, brown eyes.
For some personalities like Achilles Homer describes them as "xanthos" but the meaning isn't blonde per se. It means light color, so it could be light brown, red or dirty blonde. Even a lions mane is described as Xanthos by Homer.
As I said on 2westerneurope4u, I would be happy if we naturalised this right honourable gentleman on my right, just so that he can shut the fuck up and serve on the border nice and easy.
