Do you prefer cash or other cashless payment when shopping?

other cashless payment: debit/credit card, applepay etc.
Bratstvo_Jedinstvo@reddit
I barely have any cash. I work from home, don't really have much of a social life and there is no ATM in the neighbourhood. I'm a robot who works, sleeps, drinks coffee, breathes cigarette so I always use my debit card for payments. Credit card is kaputt, they send me weird messages like I haven't paid it or something like that.

Cashless because I am a lazy bastard
gavats@reddit (OP)
yeah apple pay/google pay really made me quite lazy. just tap the phone. done. no exchange of quite dirty notes and coins (learnt this in covid)
trisul-108@reddit
Same with me.
GreatshotCNC@reddit
I wish my laziness wasn't the reason, but it really is in fact lmao

And what happens if there's an electricity cutting down.
ZapruderFilmBuff@reddit
You will have way bigger problems if electricity goes out. And 99% of businesses will close if there is no power.

oh shit the frozen fish is thawing
franzee@reddit
Exactly this. Plus, I always have some amount of cash in hand for emergensies.

Cash registers will stop working, so shops will close or risk hefty fines.

In actually a bit depends on value of the currency.
Countries like Serbia and Turkey would not prefer it as we need to carry a lot of banknotes to get anything done. But I really enjoyed using coins in BIH it was both nostalgic and nice for me.

Cashless, faster and more convenient. There is no upside to still be using cash in my opinion (as a consumer).
Possible-Scarcity-91@reddit
Cash is king my friend.

I haven't used cash for groceries for years. I sometimes pay in cash at some restaurants.

Card so that I’m sure the seller is paying his taxes.
ZapruderFilmBuff@reddit
Cashless. Debit.
More_Ad_5142@reddit
Neither cash nor credit card. I pay by debit card.

I prefer cash

When the doctor says 50 cash 80 card, I use cash
Consistent-Shoe-9602@reddit
While we were switching to the Euro, card was so much easier. Now I'm back to using cash more often as I'm usually shopping in a small town and not all shops accept card payments.
vintage_cycles@reddit
I only use cash in the summer to buy fruits/veggies from local market.
EightZeroOneNine@reddit
I haven't carried cash with me for at least 5 years.
TensorSensor@reddit
I think about 7 yard ago I gone (almost) cashless. Rarely I can find a place that doesn’t have a POS or some app installed on a business phone. Apple pay is king for me. Gets a bit harder on the country side if you want to go buying some stuff from farmers but even there people have something to accept credit cards or electronic payments.
EfficiencySmall4951@reddit
Ever since covid I've basically only been using my card for shopping, gotten used to it
