There'll be more. I suspect only congress's favorites will receive bailouts and there can't be that many when most federal politicians fly their own business jets or the government's.
I wonder how long it'll be before the international airlines begin cancelling flights to/from the US.

The last one was TWA, which went bust in December 2001. They had been in financial trouble since the late 80’s but 9/11 was the final blow.

They'll sadly have to keep flying to the US just to take on fuel...

Spirit Airlines served a purpose of segregating the ghetto hoodrat types into one area

I can’t afford fuel for my car and I live in a car dependent area. Looks like travel is going to be difficult to impossible for the average person very soon

We were planning on driving out west on a road trip, in July. I kinda doubt that's going to happen.

I'm also rethinking summer travel and really not happy about it.
gonyere@reddit
Yeah. it's more like 'umm .. what can we do within 3-4+ hrs'. Very unfortunate. Maybe we'll hit the youghiogheny or something.

Damn, first time I’ve see that name in the wild. My first white water river of many.

Just the tip please.

So they got a bail out with tax payers dollars during the pandemic, refused to honor the credit I got for my flights when everything shut down, and now they’ve mismanaged their money again?
Sounds like they have no right being in business at all.

Good riddance to the Greyhound of the sky!!!

I'm sad to see them go. While I never flew with them, a brief and diverse competitive market benefits consumers.

Cattle car of the sky. The absolute worst seats in the entirety of travel ever to be conceived.
ninjaluvr@reddit
That's what I've heard and why I avoided them.

Those scheduled to be in flight during this time should consider bringing parachutes and oxygen masks as your cabin crew will be required to stop flying the plane at this time.

Spirit was good competition to have for keeping low prices. Everything will go up now.

Should have merged with Waffle House to keep em solvent. M&A of the year. Losing competition is never good for the wallet

Well ha, that’s my post! No need for credit, just thought it was funny
