I know this is a joke but this is how I feel about state age verification laws for websites. As an adult I have to surrender anonymity and reveal my identity to porn sites all so minors don't have to have annoying nanny software on their fucking phones?

This mentality is exactly what is wrong with our society.
And don't even start with the "it's the parents' responsibility" bullshit because anyone who goes outside and interacts with families knows that's insanely naïve and unrealistic. We have laws against letting kids buy beer or drive cars, and we fund schools because most parents are shit, and putting things in their hands leaves us with fucked kids.

Fuck that shit, giving up any semblance of privacy because parents can't control their children is ridiculous, and is an obvious power grab and attempt to further increase surveillance on innocent people. There is already a plethora of software that serves the same purpose. Push it back onto the parents if you have to pass legislation, fine the shit out of them (with income adjusted fines so it hurts everyone) if it's found that their kids are accessing adult content or whatever.
"Think about the children!" Is the same bullshit used since forever to justify furthering government involvement and spying in citizens' daily lives. Freedom isn't always a positive, it means you have to take responsibility for yourself and your own actions, including your inaction as a parent, but it's definitely worth having, I think we can agree on that. The naïve thinking here is believing that if you give the government an inch, they won't take a mile, as they have literally every other time they've been given the opportunity.
Anyone who is in one of these places, there's free VPNs online, look it up. I use a free VPN. They're almost certainly selling your data, but it'll get you around this stupid shit, and keep your ISP off your dick if you're pirating.

True so far as it enables every further piece, but the hill to die on (that we already lost) was the creation of The Federal Reserve and legal tender laws. The ability to print money so that they can spend as much as they want, is what has enabled everything else bad. The massive debt instead of a savings, the wars of choice and meddling in foreign affairs, the corruption, the handouts to big business, the massive surveillance state, the indoctrination centers for children, the propaganda networks in media, it's all funded because for the last ~113 years they can steal from us without passing any legislation.

We're already doing this. What do you think government schools are but prisons for the young? why did you think they invented pre-school, or after-school programs. They seek to extend the time you're in prison. They've made it mandatory until you're 18, and then "recommended" until you're 22 (with massive debt now that you're an adult who can be held to account for it later).

This is the same logic as saying that women should cover their faces because the sight of them causes men to lose control. Some men cannot control their own behavior. They are the problem. The rest of us should be able to see as many pretty faces as we like. Since it is really freaky to be attracted to kids, dealing with the tiny minority of actual pedophiles should require much less effort and sacrifice than mandating all childhoods take place inside cages. Yet the much more horrible approach becomes popular when problematic freaks wind up in positions of cultural and/or political leadership.
