Didn't know this was a thing. Is it like the Not Very Grand Tour, but just with Clarkson in this one too now? If so, I'm not expecting much commentary, just like 95% clips from all the episodes. I'm not going to buy Prime just for this, but when I do have a sub, may put it on in the background.

I skipped through most of the clips just for the talking segments, it was good to see the three together again but it genuinely felt like there was some truth to the lawyers making them do it jokes and that Amazon were just pushing this out to try and drum up interest for whenever their attempt to reboot the show happens. I imagine the next two episodes will still only have a few minutes of them talking as it's most likely they just got them for half a day to film the lot. But that's fine, the three might not be doing much together these days but Hammond and May still cross over for things like drunk cheese chess or that mini race to the old TG test track to keep us entertained post TG / GT, I'm sure they'll still do more bits like that when they can. And James YouTube stuff is brilliant, being entertained watching him do pretty much anything everyweek, and the duo of him and Lucy Brown is always pure excellence.

It does make me wonder what the contractual obligation was.

I imagine they had an agreement with Amazon that they had to deliver X number of episodes of TGT, but then they decided to end it earlier than that number.

It's only profiting if people actively create accounts to watch it. The presenters still need to be paid.

Otherwise, ad revenue from the Grand Tour YouTube channel would bring in more revenue.

Its... as good/bad as the Not Very Grand Tour so far, because it is just the three going 'do you remember' and then we see some clips. And if there was some behind the scenes insights, then it could have had some value... but there is only two (that they were really proud of them pretending to be special forces, and that May threw out a very expensive walkie talkie near the end of Seamen) so really you are better off just watching the episodes that are three clicks away from you.

I love these guys but I just couldn’t watch all the way through episode one. A clip show? Really?

They’ve done an emotional “this is it” ending like 3 times now… To come back again and it’s just a clip show is really cash grabby. I’m not saying they wanted it, the rhetoric is that they are legally obligated to do it…. Sucks either way though.
