Car buyers in Europe keep losing more nice things in their car market.
Due_Title_6982@reddit
I still think we have way more nice things than the US, atleast based on what i see on the internet
Sexyturtletime@reddit
You get the Alpine A110, but I think just about anything else is available in the US
HubbaMaBubba@reddit
I always hear Europeans complaining about emissions taxes making everything unaffordable.
Intel_Oil@reddit
Europe gets what it votes for. It could change in the next years when enough Boomers died that the youth finally get their AFD / RN etc. run.
masterventris@reddit
Yeah it voted for breathable air for everyone instead of €300k cars for a few
PastPalpitationCry@reddit
I don't think a few NA Porsches are really making the air unbreathable
Soggy_Cheek_2653@reddit
It got both LMAO they're going back to coal after shutting down nuclear plants
Intel_Oil@reddit
Just wait and see.

fuck that shit bro, I don't want my car to be loud, I'm not 12 yo .
here in germany we have 30/km limit zones just so we don't disturb the people living in the area with the sound
that's how it should be. noone's stopping you to drive fast or loud on the highway out of the city
jcforbes@reddit
Who said anything about how loud it is?
SHSlurpeeEnema@reddit
The article is about literally that.
Azerate333@reddit
maybe they should add a mic at the engine and a jack on the wheel so you can hear it on headphones while you driving, would satisfy everyone
SHSlurpeeEnema@reddit
Hah, they already do that with pumped in engine noise, right? But you can instantly tell it's fake so it's not great.
And besides, these days 99.999% of traffic noise is from scooters in my area at least. It's insane that those are seemingly not held to the same standard as normal cars.
Azerate333@reddit
the point in hearing it at all is so that people hear it and don't get run over, not to smulate a real engine so you have what to shake your head to
jcforbes@reddit
Crazy turn of events from the 1970s and 80s where the US cars were the lame ones and Europe/ROW cars were the ones with proper engines.
rugbyfiend@reddit
lol not much of a quote or article.
At least if the US keeps it Australia should too, albeit with something like 5-10k extra tax due to the new emissions legislation coming in.
niklas3070@reddit
Most european thing I heared. Products of Industries which leads Europe gets banned because some bullshit. 1%of 1% can afford that kind or cars, just let us enjoy it god damn it. Why have eu to kill their own lead.
mikolv2@reddit
That's what gets me... the amount of GT3s or Ferrari V12 or Lamborghini V10s produced and the amount they are actually driven means any reduction in emissions is largely irrelevant... you can drive a 2L SUV 15k miles a year all fine but god forbid you drive big NA sports car 2k miles a year...
Particular_Flower111@reddit
On some level it should be fair though so I understand the logic that if regular people have to change their behaviors/buying habits, then so do the wealthy.
The problem is that the wealthy can still do things like charter private flights, sail on mega yachts, or own large compounds using many multiples the amount of energy as a normal household. And those things are likely to be far greater sources of pollution than tailpipe emissions from a GT3 that sees 1500 miles/year.
bippos@reddit
He says while the biggest thing that consumer wants is a EV, not everyone is on this sub begging for gas cars and manual transmissions
niklas3070@reddit
I dont know on which drugs u are. I am german, drive a german car and am working at a really big dealership and we sell only german cars. The real ones with money mostly do not care about efficency, they want to gift me somehting so they g63 gets delivered more early. The ones who care about evs are a small number who look at efficency or take it because tax.
Intel_Oil@reddit
Almost feels like theres a bigger plan behind destabilizing europe, but that can't be, right?
Rahyan30200@reddit
Yeah they're really killing one of the few industries they were leading... such a shame. It truly seethes me.

What if an American wants the (presumably much faster) turbo GT3?
Darktrooper007@reddit
Offer the turbo as an upgrade.
But how much faster can the turbo be, if at all, to comply with Euro regulations?
Victor_at_Zama@reddit
The new Turbo S has 700 horsepower, so presumably much faster.
thisisjustascreename@reddit
I dunno, seems like at least 150 or 200 horsepower faster?
xlb250@reddit
If you want specs get a Corvette imo.
I feel like these cars are already way too fast. I would not be comfortable on a track without roll cage.
Krakajo@reddit
Get a gt2…
Significant-Dog-8166@reddit
I don't feel proud to be an American for this... since it's happening for all the wrong reasons, but damn when has America EVER gotten such a good deal with regards to foreign sports cars??? We always get the watered down shit version of things. The 90s M3 in particular really pissed me off.
stoned-autistic-dude@reddit
I mean… A win is a win, I guess.
aprtur@reddit
I'm honestly a little surprised they don't offer that option in the states as an accessory, although I'm not sure how accessory parts factor into the noise regulation side of things.
hi_im_bored13@reddit
There isn't a federal noise regulation (afaik) for passenger cars (most states just say your noise/muffler/etc equipment should be functional)
& even in areas w regulations they don't have to modify the cars, it's on the owner
which is mildly annoying bc it is very very easy to go past the noise limit in a completely stock 911,
even if you buy it in nyc
aprtur@reddit
That's what I was thinking, as well - I believe you could get away with it if it's technically an after sales accessory.
Several-Eggplant4460@reddit
I'm not confident they will make separate NA and turbo options. Probably just turbo everything.
The new BMW M5 has already been ruined, the writing is on the wall.
xXNodensXx@reddit
It's pretty sad to see Europe doing this to one of their greatest industries.
Would have liked to see more development of hybrid technology instead of going all in on EVs.
Wassy4444@reddit
How about no regulation and just have fun and be able to drive cool cars everywhere until the next asteroid hits
bippos@reddit
Isn’t that how you got the current admin
HollowWillowNight@reddit
I hate UE for killing the car industry 🥲
costafilh0@reddit
FVCK THEM!
Sell cars for the world, and appliances for Europe.
Solved.
DefinitelyNotAxlerod@reddit
The appliances are so much better than what America calls "cars"
Elvis1404@reddit
Nah, the Americans are right. Europe is an awful malaise era nowadays, while the Americans get big engines with modern technology
BillyJohnsFinds@reddit
Yeah facts bro the 4 cyl C63 is so much better than what came before it. Why would one want a big characterful engine in a performance car? Beats me.
Several-Eggplant4460@reddit
This is the internet, you can say fuck
b-dasher@reddit
This is a win for American influencers/streamers as their favorite car will continue to be sold.
