I imagine this is a phosphate coated bore?
FischlandchipZ@reddit (OP)
Believe most of Anderson’s stuff was nitrided. Including their dissy barrels.
boner4stoner@reddit
Gotcha. Was curious because the barrel looks awfully matte in the photos.

CDNN seems to have bought out some of the defunct Anderson's inventory, and has some interesting things up for sale that I previously thought were gone forever.
Though they don't explicitly say it, it looks like these are the Rifle-length gas system Anderson Dissipator uppers that came out a few years ago. The parts list features all Anderson parts, and CDNN is also selling the 18" A4 upper, which was another unique offering from Anderson around the same time.
Whatever your thoughts on Anderson are, they had a few products that were unique to their brand; and this was a good way to get a rifle length dissipator pre-built. With carry handle and BCG, makes for a nice package.
Other interesting Anderson parts:
20" A4 Complete Upper
18" A4 Complete Upper
16" M4gery Complete Upper
2 piece drop in rifle length quad rail
12" free float quad rail

Brother you forgot to include this absolute unit of a barrel.

Wish it was threaded

Is it not?
olafberzerk@reddit
I don't need this, but why do I want it?
Bubbly-Celery-4096@reddit
Ohhh yah. I think I need this
Much_Replacement8773@reddit
Perfect for an AR RPK build 👌
FischlandchipZ@reddit (OP)
Those varmits wont stand a chance.
Vic_the_Dick@reddit
Kinda' want for a meme build.
street_sweeper_757@reddit
It’s currently in my cart for the same reason. Probably gonna load up on small parts as well.
Vijaywada@reddit
Unable to place order. Says your address dont match with card ! Anyone else having same issues ?
abrokemexican@reddit
I’m tempted in that quad rail
randotaway90@reddit
The rifle length 2 piece drop in rail set. Is that actually for a rifle length gas system? Everything i looked up said mid length, the description says carbine and mid length.
FischlandchipZ@reddit (OP)
Unrelated, but I will always advocate for the $180 Bushmaster QRC Pencil Barrel upper.
CDNN also got a bunch of the defunct Bushmaster's parts, and these uppers are a pretty unique combo; pencil barrel, chopped FSB, Delta Ring handguard. Makes for a super lightweight upper, perfect for something like a KP15 lower. I've had many of them and they are great.
Rjsmith5@reddit
God, I wish they had put A2 front sight posts on these.
FischlandchipZ@reddit (OP)
It's a strange config for sure. Bushmaster sold it with a red dot as an "optics ready" package.
Rjsmith5@reddit
Heads up - these aren’t actually Bushmaster uppers. Only the barrel is Bushmaster, I believe. IIRC, they had these for years as just the barrel/gas block, then slapped them on some mystery meat uppers and added $100 to the price.
FischlandchipZ@reddit (OP)
I’ve seen them as the complete upper for probably 5 years, along with the barrels. They used to be even cheaper, like $120-150 for the upper.
Maybe it is, maybe it isnt; but they have always served me well.
HeughJanus@reddit
absolutely ruined their worth with that fsb chop
LORDIGBICK@reddit
Have one from a carbon-15 upper I shaved and put a ff rail on. Good pencil barrel
Bubbly-Celery-4096@reddit
I have so many Anderson lower and no upper. I think as tribute I need to get one. Will these cleared out more or finial price. What do you guys think?
HitYourLawyerAgain@reddit
I'm sure it's final price, the quantity in stock has gone down slowly all day
FischlandchipZ@reddit (OP)
Not sure if I ever see CDNN prices really go down since they kinda price everything at blowout prices. They just kinda keep it on the site forever until they sell out and they are gone forever.
ebolamonkey3@reddit
Anyone know the gas port size on the dissipator barrel?
HitYourLawyerAgain@reddit
Anderson is reportedly .110
HitYourLawyerAgain@reddit
I can't tell if the carry handle is forged
FischlandchipZ@reddit (OP)
The andersons did not come with a carry handle to my knowledge, so assume its a CDNN addition and probably a cheapo one.
HitYourLawyerAgain@reddit
Yeah I don't see forge makes in the photo.
I have a PSA faux dissy, and I so badly want to buy this.....but I shouldn't...
FischlandchipZ@reddit (OP)
I have a rifle length 16” I built myself, and while its smooth to shoot, I wouldn’t say its really a crazy difference compared to the PSA faux dissy’s I’ve owned. Noticeable, but not mind blowing. I built mine with an adjustable gas block for eventual suppressed use.
Original dissipators were carbine length anyway; the whole faux dissipator thing is built on misinformation. Colt 695’s were rifle length but also didn’t work well.
HitYourLawyerAgain@reddit
I do agree, 999% of information of dissys and/or colt 605s is incorrect
But Anderson is like one of two modern manufacturers who made true rifle lengths with gas ports to support them.
I want to buy this just to have a true rifle length 16", but then I'd want to cut off the bayo lug and chop the barrel an inch. I'd sell my PSA dissy if I did.
BestMillimeter18@reddit
RIP Delton who also made real dissys
FischlandchipZ@reddit (OP)
Del-tons were hbar which is gross. These are (nominally) govt profile so not as heavy.
Bourbon-neat-@reddit
Yeah I snagged a delton dissy barrel during their liquidation sale, I was not prepared for what an absolute chungus that barrel is.
chronoserpent@reddit
I was waiting for a sale on the PSA dissy to grab one, can you explain why this Anderson is better? Sorry I'm a newbie. I have a M16A1 retro build and wanted a more modern upper I could put on it with an opportunity for an optic instead of the fixed sights.
HitYourLawyerAgain@reddit
I wouldn't say it's "better" but here goes.
The dissipator is a clone of the Colt 605 rifle
The Colt 605 intent was to take the M16 and just cut the barrel down to 15" for maneuverability.
However, a rifle length gas system, didn't work with such a short barrel, and caused tons of issues. (Civilian legal length is 16", but same issues)
So the rifle never made it to modern production for military.
However, Bushmaster started making them years later, 16", rifle length handguards, but hidden under the handguard was a carbine gas system, so it worked fine. However it was fake (faux dissy) because it was actually a hidden carbine gas system. The LA bank robbers used these.
So, come along Anderson, DPMS and Winham Armory actually figured out how to make a 16' barrel with rifle length gas work correctly with any ammo.
However, places like PSA started just doing their own faux dissy which is a mid length gas, which is a very smooth shooter, but not as smooth as rifle.
Mid let's you run anything, suppressed, unsupressed, a2 stock, m4 stock, never will you have an issue in theory.
However, if you want the true real thing, that works that only anyone will know is the true real thing, you need the Anderson, dpms or Windham, all three of them don't make them anymore.
If you do run a real one, you want an a2 fixed stock though just so it's as light and gentle recoil as possible.
In theory having a gunsmith cut it down to the correct 15" barrel, or running a suppressor could cause it to not run reliable.
So tldr: if you want clone correct and smoothest possible shooting, and plan to run a fixed rifle stock and leave it at a 16" barrel Anderson, if you don't care, PSA.
chronoserpent@reddit
Thank you! You mentioned an A2 stock but I have an A1 fixed stock, is that a problem?
HitYourLawyerAgain@reddit
No not at all, as it uses a rifle length buffer, same thing.
I'd full send on the Anderson!
chronoserpent@reddit
Ordered, thanks for your help!
RyAllDaddy69@reddit
Hell yeah, I’ve been looking for both an A2 and a dissy…unfortunately I’ll have to wait until tomorrow if it’s still there, but damn this is perfect.
FischlandchipZ@reddit (OP)
This is an A4 style upper; flat top.
redacted_robot@reddit
If this had been A2 they wouldn't still be in stock... only thing holding me back to put on my kp15.
Tax_this_dick_1776@reddit
I just bought a PTR Jack today and 200 mini shells for it….I did not need to spend another $390…but damnit I’ve been kicking myself for not buying one of these stupid things for the last year.
FischlandchipZ@reddit (OP)
They were a good deal back then, a good deal now if you don't have the skills or time to try and build one off a KAK barrel.
Tax_this_dick_1776@reddit
One of the very few things I don’t fuck with on ARs is trying to get a taper pin FSB on straight so I sucked it up and bought this one.
redacted_robot@reddit
Perfect opportunity to flip the script and have a poverty pony ride my Knight. Hopefully he can handle the heat.
Keyboard_rawrior@reddit
perfect pairing for the $17 poverty pony
