Gigabyte, Asus.
Avoid MSI.

I heard MSI tomahawk was pretty good.
Asus kinda overpriced imo

For ages, they have had problems with components (e.g. VRM, capacitors)

Yep Aorus Elite is usually my go to for quality and value.
But for B850, X870 - i see MSI Tomahawk on top rankings a lot and read really good reviews about them

As someone who repairs motherboards I would recommend staying away from the Aorus line. Let the hate replies commence.

People are recommending Gigabyte but I couldn't be more against that.
Gigabyte provide great value-for-money boards but I must warn you that their software is absolutely horrible (Aorus has to be the worst RGB software ever made), and their BIOS has been buggy has not been great on my board, although I do have an older B450 model.
I'd have no problems going for a Gigabyte GPU or something but I would stay away from their motherboards personally. You could get something like the MSI PRO B840-P WIFI

Kind of funny you say that, I feel GCC has better RGB control than either MSI or Asus easily. Both the other brands are very finnicky in my experience when I try and set a static color and save it, while GCC just seems to work.

If you only want to spend $100, you ain't gonna get the top 3 motherboards tbh
Check out gigabyte eagle b850 only like $80 last time I saw on scale.
That is probably best you can get for under $100

I'm pretty sure that Eagle for $80 was a pricing error on PCPartPicker. It was picking up a clearance deal on Best Buy that wasn't actually available.
Hawk7117@reddit
I was making that Gigabyte recommendation for some people a few days ago before I saw it was OOS from Bestbuy.
You can 100% find really good boards on WOOT! pretty regularly, but availability is often limited to the point deals only last a few hours at most.
I grabbed a couple TUF B650-e boards for $125 each in the past week.

The motherboard is the logistics centre of your PC. Don't buy a cheap motherboards for a higher end PC (Especially higher end CPU's). It is the same trap most fall for.
psimwork@reddit
There are, in the US, precisely 8 motherboards on PCPP for <$100.
One of them is almost certainly a pricing error.
Of the remaining ones, I wouldn't personally use any of them.
The absolute cheapest motherboard I would personally use would be the Gigabyte B650M GAMING PLUS WIFI currently priced at $110 in the US. And honestly, I'm not likely to use that either. The real answer as to a motherboard that I would personally feel comfortable buying right now is the Asus TUF GAMING B650E-PLUS WIFI, currently selling in the US for $150.

I’d spend a bit more on something or get one from eBay. The gigabyte b850 aorus elite is a good choice

$100 is too cheap for a system of this level. You should be looking at closer to $150-200. The Gigabyte B850 Aorus Elite is a good deal.
