Modern monetary theorists love bubbles, none of them are complaining.

Bubble, bubble, bubble, bubble, bubble

In meantime Samsung’s employees were on strike for a reason… but you know companies will always make a facade with big claims which only seek greater profit but not for the employee.
Entire_Judge_2988@reddit
Hmm... I live in Korea, and the reason they went on strike was because they received lower bonuses than SK Hynix.
After nearly going bankrupt once, SK Hynix became a company that operates completely in the American style, and promised huge bonuses like a casino when profits increased.
On the other hand, Samsung has always been a stable company and did not guarantee high risk, high returns like SK. If SK is a casino, Samsung is a civil servant.
There are too many people on Reddit who talk without knowing anything.
Polar_Banny@reddit
Sure, I am not from South Korea, but I wonder ones you defend big enterprises does your point going to stick when the so called CEOs get these bonuses despite company having bad earnings? I don’t think so, situation from your country says a lot about these big family based enterprises.
Same as in EU which is fucked beyond repair, where taxpayers got treated as second class citizens unless you are a very special individual with 5 underage wives.
Entire_Judge_2988@reddit
Samsung CEOs don't need bonuses. Korean companies don't hire CEOs. Companies are owned by families, like medieval lords.
It seems like you either don't know or want to pretend you don't. Family-owned businesses exist in the US. and Europe as well. Why do you think that is strange?
Polar_Banny@reddit
Well, if we’re to pretend better you’d know that Samsung or SK are listed on stock exchanges (bourses) which makes them kinda public.
Entire_Judge_2988@reddit
Well, Koreans don't really care. It's natural for a man to succeed in a business and inherit it to his eldest son.
What surprised me is that individualistic Westerners consider corporations to be public goods.
kekmanofthekeks@reddit
Right cuz korea is so nice to live in with chaebols owning all your industries lol
Polar_Banny@reddit
Name implies that but in reality system works differently.

Samsung and SK hynix warn that the FOMO is not going anywhere and you should really buy it now at inflate prices because we are totally out of capacity we pinky promise. I mean, what you gonna do? It's not like NAND is an oligopoly and there's no where else you can buy it.
Canadian_Border_Czar@reddit
We're at the point where switching to Linux is literally free money. Clear up all that bloatware and enjoy

Memory manufacturers signal intent to keep prices high since they rather like making Scrooge McDuck style piles of cash.
Forsaken_Sundae_4315@reddit
By today's standards Scrooge McDuck would poor af.
HarithBK@reddit
Beyond openAI letter of intent memory makers are charging to reserve fab space and demanding pay 6 months in advance.
They know AI is a bubble and won't be left scrambling for new vendors to buy there fab space so they get paid first and if it all falls flat they are still golden. This is also why building new fabs isn't on the table the demand isn't seen as stable.
imjunsul@reddit
True but if Ai stays its always going to be relevant.. maybe not as much as now but who knows
st8ic88@reddit
Yup, the big players have a long history of collusion and are currently making excess profits in the tens of billions of dollars. This is not going away anytime soon.
Polar_Banny@reddit
This is perfect example of democracy…
SeaSharpModHer@reddit
I really hope China bankrupts these fucks.

"Quick! Buy more capacity with inflated price from us! Before the AI bubble popped!"
bctoy@reddit
Ruing my decision to not get the 96GB M-die dual-rank kit. A-dies don't work as well on Z790I Lightning and I've seen people hit 8000 and above with the 96GB kit.
rolfraikou@reddit
I love the the entire consumer tech market just apparently deserves to die. I know it's wishful thinking, but I really hope that someday the ram manufacturers get replaced completely. I know "business is business" or whatever, but destroying an entire segment is just fucked.

So they keep saying....
