Has anyone recently gone through the UK passport renewal process from abroad and can share their experience with its timeline and shipping options?

I’ve already checked the official guidelines and understand the basic steps but I’d really appreciate hearing real experiences especially how long it took and also which courier service you used and if there were any unexpected delays or issues. Just trying to plan things better and avoid mistakes.

I was the countersignature for a mate's passport recently, who lives abroad. I verified his identity online and iirc he got the passport less than a month after submitting the application, maybe as quickly as a fortnight.

From Belgium it took less than 1 month as far as I can remember. Applied 24 Jan. Passport issued 12 Feb and received about about a week later.
