Should I stay or should I go?

Hello All,
I'm working as an FO for one of fhe wholly owned. I'm 48.
I am curious about your opinion. Should I apply for legacies when the time comes or should I stay where I am, build seniority, and climb up the corporate ladder?
Considering my age, what's the best move?
Thank you!

Year 3 at a legacy you will make more than a maxed out captain at any regional, with a bigger 401K and way better work rules. Pretty self explanatory.

So, now that song will be stuck in my head all morning.... 😆

1000% leave. Pay, 401k, scheduling, etc. all improve.
All the majors are all still airlines and therefore will always present you with "aw c'mon, this is bullshit" moments. They will be fewer and farther in between than at a regional.

I forget which thread it was, but someone did the math and concluded that getting hired by a legacy as late as age 59 had a better ROI than staying at a regional.

If we assume you manage to get hired at 49 (so in a year), you`d have 16 years at a legacy, with 20% (or more) direct contribution to your pension and a wage im going to assume is going to be significantly better (after a while) than at your current place.
