Internal fractures destroy nations before enemies do

Forgive the author for describing Israel as "profoundly diverse" lmfao
Published this week on The Jerusalem Post, this article covers how civilizations fall.
Anyone familiar with the fall of Rome knows that external threats were not the ultimate end to the empire. It was internal strife and subterfuge. Collapse related because external threats are not enough when it comes to regional collapse - it almost always comes from within. No amount of division or unity will fix this.

Rule 3: Posts must be on-topic, focusing on collapse.
Posts must be focused on collapse. If the subject matter of your post has less focus on collapse than it does on issues such as prepping, politics, or economics, then it probably belongs in another subreddit.
Posts must be specifically about collapse, not the resulting damage. By way of analogy, we want to talk about why there are so many car accidents, not look at photos of car wrecks.

I’m sorry OP, but I could barely read that article with the giant, Gaza sized elephant in the room distracting me. To quote the article:
>It also means recognizing the extraordinary sacrifices already being made. The soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces, the reservists, and their families, the wives and children who carry the burden of absence and uncertainty, represent the best of Israel’s collective spirit. They fight not for conquest, but for life. They embody a principle that must guide the nation: we fight to live, not to destroy.
I see the point you’re trying to make (internal strife is bad), but the entire point of this piece is “Israel’s biggest problem is that we’re not accepting enough of all Jews, and we all need to come together and get on the same page.” And uhhh, I’d argue that Israel’s biggest problem is all the ethnic cleansing that they’re doing, and maybe it would be a good thing if more Israeli citizens criticized and protested their government over that?
But that’s not really surprising coming from JPost.
